SITUATION POST: JULY 21, 2013 (APHRODISIA)

[Today, a single rose has been placed at the feet of the statue of Aphrodite in accordance with the laws for celebrating Aphrodisia.

When you ate your breakfast this morning, you might have noticed it was delicious, even better than usual. Maybe the nymphs and harpies took extra care, or maybe there was a little Love Potion No. 9 in it.

[ They just got back last night, and Leo's decided to take it easy today. When he's not exploring Bunker 9 (that qualifies as taking it easy!), he's wandering around the forges and mostly just hanging out by the beach and tinkering with little things. That's where he is now, with a surprisingly calm little bird automaton at his side in lieu of a dragon. ]

*After breakfast Maya had some free time, so she set-up camp on the beach, guitar in hand, sun shining. And was belting out Shut up and Drive. This wasn't a gig, so she wasn't worrying about being perfect. Just staying in practice, and thanks to Katie she knew ALL THE WORDS to this little number. She'll sing something else later, maybe.*

[ Heather has a good feeling about this, thanks mom.

She's minding her own business, innocently laying out by the lake after several laps back and forth. There is a devious glint in her eye, but she isn't entirely certain why she has an extra bounce in her step today.

Well, no, it's her festival and she should probably do something later to celebrate her. For now, however, she will bask in the sun. ]

[Jehan's relaxing under one of the non-nymph trees after breakfast, scribbling away in his notebook. It's all in French, but it's all his attempts at poetry. They're a work in progress (and full of misspellings but that's what computers are for when he gets back home).]

[ She's just sulking in and out of her own cabin, fiddling with this and reading that. Natalie does not trust the cheeriness of the day and will try to avoid as many people as possible,

[Wow, granola was extra good this morning. It's amazing what a little cinnamon can do (that had just been cinnamon, right? ...Right?)

Either way, Margot is full and setting out to begin her morning routine, tightening the laces of her sneakers, stretching, and taking off at a quick jog down the path around the cabins. This is totally fun and a good way to start the day, at least she thinks so.]

[Gabriel loved his food so much, he might have...snuck seconds away.

And thirds. Either way, he's snacking on some eggs on top of the Iris cabin in his free time.]

[Jason wasn't sure how you made cereal taste better than normal, but maybe it was just a good day. Jason quickly scans the tables as spots Reyna leaving, probably for the arena. He isn't sure why, but he feels a compulsion to go after her. He slips off the bench and takes off after her.]

[Dany's heard of the festival a few times before and knows the goddess's affinity with roses, so in an attempt to please her, since she knows Aphrodite isn't exactly fond of her father, she'll be going around all day wearing a beautiful crown of pink roses made by Jehan. It's not the most regal of crowns ordinarily, but the way she carries herself makes up for it.]

[Today's Venus's day, and Scott's going to take the opportunity to moon over that girl he'd met the other day at every opportunity, to everyone up to and including Stiles and Heather.

[Even Eponine is in a good mood today, though that really only came about after her second cup of coffee. She'd sulked in her corner all through breakfast, and made her way to the edge of the forest for a bit of knife play.

That is to say, she was busy throwing her knives against non-nymph trees for target practice.]

[Courfeyrac had a heaping plate full of breakfast this morning. For some reason, it tasted even better today and he polished off every last bit. He can tell, vaguely, that there's something different about today, but he doesn't seem to mind. Or mention it.

He's just lounging near the water, catching some sun. It's his mother's day, so he'll be sure to pay her extra tribute. Later.]

[ Derek is far too focused on the fact that Roman training is resuming tomorrow morning and the full moon the same evening to realize what's going on around him. The food does taste better than it has since he and his cohort arrived, but he doesn't really pay it much attention.

He's keeping to himself, out near the boundaries of the north woods by the mess hall, which is largely in everyone's best interests. After breakfast, he decided to take some time away from the rest of the camp to lessen all the sensory overload that comes with so many people, eyes closed and head back against a tree. ]

[Piper may be a daughter of Aphrodite, but she's only been in camp a month and she doesn't expect her mother's schemes to be so widespread. So after breakfast she casually visits the statue to acknowledge the day, not knowing that she and her fellow students are ticking hormone time bombs.

Then she heads around camp, doing things like canoeing, practicing with her dagger, or just hanging out at her cabin, sitting in the open doorway and looking up at the clouds in the sky.]

[ The flower princess of camp has taken to braiding baby's breath blossoms into her hair. It's very fragrant and delicate and she hopes that the goddess will be pleased with her offering for today. She's sitting at breakfast still, drinking a strawberry smoothie, working on her braid with no mirror.

Why the prettifying today? She knows not. ]

( Breakfast was amazing today. Like, really amazing. Johnny stuck around a little longer than usual, going so far as to have two slurpees as his beverage of choice instead of his usual one. Maybe it was because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Maybe it was something else entirely.

Well, whatever it was, it's left him feeling inspired as hell so he retreats to the edge of the strawberry field, flopping down on the ground and trying to write lyrics down on a scrap of paper he finds in his pocket. They might not be very good - maybe if he were a child of Apollo or something - but no, he just really needs to get these words out. Slurpee totally rhymes with slurpee, right? )

[Naomi has made herself a little nest of blankets out by the lake, trying her best to make a flower crown like Jehan had been doing all day. There are some flowers in her hair as well, and it's safe to say she was trying to imitate Anna's hair style.

Today was a good day, and Naomi is content to spend the rest of it by the lake... Or at least until lunchtime.]

[Guess who doesn't pay attention to the special rituals of the Greek gods. That's right, this kid. Someone just smack him already. But that's one of the benefits of who his girlfriend is, is there's always a walking encyclopaedia right next to him. And they do have plans for the day - the plans just so happen to be discussing training regimens for the Greeks and which cabins to pair against which for sparring practice, but still. More reason to talk to her :D]

[So after breakfast Percy's heading over to the Athena table, where he takes Annabeth's hand and bends down to kiss her on the cheek.]
