[Finally. Finally, he's got it, and he's so excited about this. At least, the cake part. (Thanks, Jehan.)

There's a part of turning 18 that scares the everloving crap out of Gabriel, especially being here, of all places, but he's not going to think about that right now. No. Right now, he's going to think about how freaking great this cake is going to be.

But first he's got a little matter to settle of who he's going to share his birthday cake with. He sends out an IM, the giant cake very visible in the rainbow.]

Really, guys? You're gonna let me sit up here by myself and eat the whole thing? By myself? Really, guys?

[He's teasing, of course. That was his idea of an invitation.]

[So some people who Gabriel interacted with within the last month may have noticed the beard he'd tried to sport for all of November.

Well, if one can call the ridiculously patchy stubble he'd tried to pass off as a beard a beard. (It'll grow in better eventually, he thinks.)

This is one of the few IMs where he says absolutely nothing - which, keep in mind, is stupidly hard for him. It's for 'dramatic effect', he'll say later. So he decides he's going to let the entire camp in on watching him do this.

He's actually sitting in front of a mirror in the Iris cabin, shaving off this ridiculous excuse for a beard in complete silence with an old-fashioned razor and shaving cream. He's no Sweeney Todd, but he's doing a good job, at least.]

[On the other side of the rainbow, Gabriel's sitting atop his cabin, which is nothing new. It's pretty common to see the counselor sitting on the roof. He likes being close to the sky. He leans forward, almost conspiratorially, and begins speaking.]

So some of you know about this, some of you don't. I've been hearing a lot of talk around here about...y'know, wondering what the hell happens to us after we're too old for camp. I know for us Greeks, it's always kind of been like - 'okay, good luck', and we end up dying out there in the mortal world. And personally? I'm not big on dying. But the Romans - they had their city, New Rome, and from what I saw, it was a place for them, their families. You could live out a normal life and be safe and not have to worry about opening your door and finding some empousa that wants to chomp on your leg or something.

So that's what I'm thinking. We have enough space here - why the hell don't we have our own city alongside camp, too? For everybody to stay safe. Not just Greeks or Romans or anything. If we have to be stuck here, we might as well be able to have our lives back.

If you're in, you know where to find me.

[He lies back on the roof, and the rainbow fades away.]

[Today, a single rose has been placed at the feet of the statue of Aphrodite in accordance with the laws for celebrating Aphrodisia.

When you ate your breakfast this morning, you might have noticed it was delicious, even better than usual. Maybe the nymphs and harpies took extra care, or maybe there was a little Love Potion No. 9 in it.

Who knows?

OOC INFORMATION ABOUT THIS EVENT CAN BE FOUND HERE.]

[OOC: Backdated, because I'd meant to post this yesterday and hadn't gotten around to it!]

[So throughout the day today, Gabriel's been going around in secret, posting fliers basically anywhere he can without Chiron causing a commotion. The notices read as follows:]

Are you as freaked out as me about this whole Gaea thing?
Want to expand your skillset beyond just what your parent's given you?
Come to the Arena at 2 PM for an illuminating combat lesson.

[He thinks he's very funny.

Anyway, at about lunchtime, Gabriel sends out another one of the camp-wide Iris Messages. Anybody looking up into the rainbow will see him in a sitting position, perched on something - it's the Roman war elephant, Hannibal, who he's taken a liking to.]

I think I forgot to mention something on that flier. If you're planning on coming and learning from me and are afraid of the dark, you might want to toughen up, and fast.

Anyway, I'm already here, so...

[He shrugs and leans back on the elephant's back, lounging atop his kevlar vest.]

[Well, everyone who'd left to go get the standards back from Camp Jupiter - that's Chloe, Anna, Julien, Derek, Enjolras, Gabriel, and Reyna - will be arriving back at Camp Half-Blood this afternoon, just after lunch, with the blessings of both Hermes and Iris to give them a safe journey home at their backs. They'll be carting along five Imperial golden statues of animals with them that will be installed near the cabins, along with the statues of the Greek gods that were already there. Word on the street is that some more Roman campers followed their path, and there'll be a second wave coming in.

The part that may shock you, campers, is that they'll all be riding in on a large elephant wearing a kevlar vest. His name is Hannibal, and starting today, he'll be living in the arena along with Mrs. O'Leary.

Come and mingle at the campfire tonight, everyone. Chances are they've missed you.]

[Hey, Camp Half Blood. You know that large patch of dirt next to the Iris cabin?

Yeah. That's just what it looks like. To you.

Gabriel arrived last night, and he was out, invisible, while you were sleeping, digging a nice hole.

So if you happen to step on that dirt, you'll have a nice long fall and hear someone cackling from the roof of the Iris cabin.

Yep. Everyone's least favorite trickster is back in action.]
