[Today, a single rose has been placed at the feet of the statue of Aphrodite in accordance with the laws for celebrating Aphrodisia.

When you ate your breakfast this morning, you might have noticed it was delicious, even better than usual. Maybe the nymphs and harpies took extra care, or maybe there was a little Love Potion No. 9 in it.

Yes, the counselor. His name is Jean Prouvaire.

[And almost immediately, it's as if something snaps in Dany. It's clear she's talking about someone she's fond of, just by her face, but whether the Frenchman is just a close friend, to onlookers, is something else entirely.]

He works wonders with plants.

[That doesn't seem to ping too much with Margot -- if it's anything more than fondness for a close friend, it goes over her head. If it's something in the vicinity of a crush, she wouldn't know what that would like look if it hit her straight in the face. Crushes happened to other people.]

Huh. Should see if he's still making 'em. I should probably get all fancied up for the festival or whatever.

I believe the lady Aphrodite would appreciate that...she is one with a certain eye for beauty, after all.

[She nods, giving Margot a soft smile, straightening her back as she sits.]

Though I would not choose such dainty flowers as roses for someone of your standing. Perhaps something like...gladioli?

Gladioli? I guess... [She shrugs, fairly obvious in her lack of knowledge about flowers. What she knows: they're pretty and smell good. That's about it.]

Rather find something with irises, though. They're kinda my favourite.

They're quite beautiful, though I think they may prove difficult to weave into a flower crown.

Is there any reason why?

I dunno. I just always thought they were really pretty, with the blue colour and all. [And because her antagonistic quota hasn't been filled this conversation (and she's talking about flowers, not a very Cabin Five thing, thank you,) she adds:] Why? Any reason I shouldn't?

[The girl's tone is forceful, but Dany refuses to back down. She sits a little straighter, her eyes a little sterner.]

No, I hadn't meant it that way. I simply was surprised you had an interest in floral arrangement. It seems to me it was a habit that Demeter's children had picked up.

[She rolls her shoulders in a shrug.] Not something I wanna do; I just think they look nice, that's all.

If you go to Jehan, I think he'd be truly happy to make a crown for you.

[There's that bubbly feeling again. Dany does her best to push it down, pretend like it's not there.]
