SITUATION POST: JULY 21, 2013 (APHRODISIA)

[Today, a single rose has been placed at the feet of the statue of Aphrodite in accordance with the laws for celebrating Aphrodisia.

When you ate your breakfast this morning, you might have noticed it was delicious, even better than usual. Maybe the nymphs and harpies took extra care, or maybe there was a little Love Potion No. 9 in it.

I can probably manage one of those, you know I can't hit quite the sound on just a six-string?

Oh... Yeah, point. I kinda don't know the first thing about instruments. I'm sorta banned from touching them.

Well, first thing, if the girl only has an acoustic and her voice, pick based on lyrics. MCR has some great songs, but a lot of them work better with a drumkit and a bass. Anything I play will either be a dance number or a ballad to make it sound good like this.

Unless you can find me a drummer, then we can talk.

[She snorts a laugh.]

I think you'd have better luck finding someone than I would, especially over at your cabin. Guessing you're over at Apollo's, huh?

I guess, I mean today's started pretty cool with breakfast being so good. Definitely not a bad day to dance. ...Maybe not on the beach though.

You'd be surprised, our counselor put me in charge of the nightly sing alongs because apparently nobody else stepped up for it. So maybe I'm the most musically gifted of the cabin?

*Maya you play every musical instruments without trying. There are like four you couldn't instantly play.*

Never on the beach. Might fall in the water.

[She narrows her eyes a moment and glares at the ocean as if its presence is some great affront before shaking it off. Bleh.]

Heh. Maybe? Pretty big responsibility with the sing alongs, though.

What's so bad about that? I mean, if I had my guitar that'd earn someone an arrow. But otherwise stumbling into the ocean is okay in the summer.

Eh, it's just a gig like any other. I don't see it as that big a deal, and it's definitely in my wheelhouse.

I dunno. I'd probably die if I had to do something like that. I mean, gimme something to fight and cool, but singing and whatever? Not my thing, so kudos to you.

I can handle an audience, and playing through embarrassing things. But I have had a lot of practice at music performances. I mean my first one I was... seven. I know the stage and music way better than fighting and monsters.

Since seven? [Whistles.] Cool. So like, do you just play guitar, then, or do y'know other stuff?

Oh, all my performance stuff was cello. Guitar is just a hobby. Same with piano, bass guitar, double bass, little violin. Also tried the trumpet, trombone, ocarina, flute, recorder, and panpipes. Oh, and one of my friends tried to teach me to play the drums.

Strings are really more my thing. Not sure if it's a me thing, or a my dad is God of Archery thing.

Not yet. I know what kind of sound they make, and it just isn't the sort of thing I want to play.

But it is a string thing, and a Dad thing, so... I probably can rock it as well as anything else.
