[ You'll find yourself looking at a grave centaur first thing this morning, just before the Romans start their training. ] Campers, I've an important announcement to make. Now, you know very well that we have protective borders around Camp Half-Blood. After last summer's incident, we've taken great care to ensure that we have several lines of defense with both force and Mist.

Followers of Lycaon - wolves - have been spotted just outside of camp. It is believed that they continue to align themselves with Gaea.

There have been no attacks, but I trust that all of you will keep your eyes and ears open for any signs of trouble. No campers will be leaving. [ Have a pointed look for some of you. ] However, we must keep our wits about us. Prepare accordingly. The Athena cabin has necessary information on the followers should you choose to educate yourselves on the matter. I hope you will.

[ Annabeth Chase is on guard, seeing as she was one of the first people Chiron spoke to after the anonuncement. She's already made a schedule for herself - make a patrol team, reaseach during/after breakfast, training after lunch.

She's the resident Greco-Roman walking encyclopedia and will actually be happy to answer any questions you might have about wolf lore vs. wolf truths and the story of Lycaon himself. Or she is a more than willing fighting partner, as many can attest to. ]

[Athena cabin. Right. That's where he's got to go - that's exactly the right place. Athena, Minerva, wisdom. That's what he needs.

He actually jogs up to the cabin, waving to its counselor.]

Chiron says - he says you know information?

[Seeing Rhys around the Athena Cabin probably isn't a surprise. He spends a lot of time there with his nose in a book- he might almost be living there instead of in Hecate Cabin.

This time he's not taking advantage of the library, though. He heads over to Annabeth.]

So we're sure these are Lycaon's wolves?

[He's reasonably sure the Greeks have confirmed it, but there are lots of wolves in mythology. There might be other options!]

[The first thing Percy does as he approaches Athena cabin is check to make sure Annabeth has Daedalus' laptop with her. The first thing he does when he actually gets there is give her a quick kiss before reaching for her hand.]

Come on, I've got an idea - let's go talk to Cabin 8 and see if I'm completely losing it or if this is something they can really do.

[So Chiron says the L-word and then the w-word in succession, and Scott doesn't know much about them, but he knows enough, knows that those wolves are bad. Knows that he knows a wolf in his cohort that's good, and who knows why Lycaeon's followers are here, what they could want.

Well. Considering Chiron says they're on Gaea's side, they probably want to eat them. Which is nothing new.

So if Scott McCall was getting the hang of order, training every morning in this new place to begin with, he's really kicking himself into high gear now. He's set up a pull-up bar in the doorway of the Nike cabin, and is actually reading a book Annabeth has lent out to him. This is serious.]

[Sojourner was just coming back from a jog through the woods when she saw Scott doing push ups in the door way and... Reading a book at the same time?

She gives him a raised eyebrow.]

[ Pretty much the minute Stiles hears Chiron's announcement, he is up, out of bed, and immediately on his way to the Nike cabin. He is one of very few people in the know about the wolf operation that was already going on here at Camp Half Blood, and he's not--worried, per se, but.

Well, imagine the carnage if the good-ish one got mixed in with the big bad ones.

So, Stiles trots across the lawn just as Scott is doing his pull ups, and his eyebrows go up at the sight momentarily, mouth settling into a familiar, half lopsided "this face is for Scott McCall being Scott McCall" smile. ] Yo, Rocky, we've got a problem. Sorta.

[Chiron will easily recognize the annoyed "ugggggggh" Percy's making from his side of the IM since he's... heard it a lot. Gaea's just getting to be more and more of a bitch every day.]

Do we have any idea how many of them are out there? Or where they're camping out? Or you know, if Tall, Ugly, and Toothy is even with them?

[If anyone wants to find Percy after he finishes talking to Chiron, he'll be at the stables with the pegasi, trying to calm them down a little about the wolves and see if they can smell where the enemy is.]

Six have been spotted, only followers, not Lycaon himself.

[ He uses his index finger and thumb to rub his temples. It's been a restless evening for the satyr. ]

As far as we know, they've been on the move. The nymphs at the edge of camp have only seen them once or twice in the same spot since last night.

[Aqua enters the stables and pauses for a moment when she spots Percy. Then, she picks up an apple and goes to one of the pegasi that he hasn't gotten to chat with.]

You know, I haven't gotten a chance to talk to the pegasi since I arrived. I used to talk to our unicorns all the time, so I don't know why it took me so long to come down here.

[She thinks that maybe it's because seeing another fantastical horse will make her miss those unicorns, but she doesn't voice that.]

[The announcement was a serious one that Jason would have to consider carefully. Unfortunately, it had come just before it was time to get to their morning training which gave Jason very little time to change any of his plans for the day.

But, that was no reason to cancel training. It was just another aspect he would need to discuss with Reyna and the rest of the legion. Perhaps later they could try and find Lupa as well, though he wouldn't hold his breath. She was probably helping keep the other wolves at bay and would let the Legion go on as it always did.

[Hephaistion had been joining the Romans during their morning training, and he was pleased to show that, as a Greek, he was no slacker and was able to keep up with the unfamiliar training techniques. He's been enjoying it thoroughly.

Today's training was coloured by the announcement from Chiron, and afterwards, Hephaistion feels it make be time to lean more about wolves from one of the leaders of the Romans himself. The books could only take him so far. The education the Romans had received... now that was priceless.

So he approached Jason after training.]

Hey. Nice work out there.

[Wolves. Great. Never evil sloths or hamsters or puffins. It's always wolves or snakes or giant horrible birds with knives for feathers. Not that a normal wolf would be that terrifying, given they tend to avoid humans, but divinely controlled ones with human intelligence and coordination would be horrifying enough if they didn't have the sort of superpowers they inevitably will have.

Harry's just gotten back, and hasn't had time to work himself into the patrol schedules, so he figures for now to get some morning practice in before checking on what changes have been made to the camp wards. Hey, he's not technically leaving the grounds, and if he runs into bad guys, he can see about chasing them off before they threaten any of the younger kids. He's interested to see if they've gotten the magicians adding to the defenses, and if so how.

Not being the sword type, he's hitting the practice dummies with his staff when he notices a new from his perspective kid join him. Harry notices him in part because he's only a few inches shorter than Harry himself, and with a hell of a lot more muscle. Nicer hair too.

Jerk.]

[ Here we go, Allison.

She hasn't even been here for very long but it's unsurprising that this kind of trouble follows her. She's an Argent after all, this is what she does.

Taking a bite of a blessed apple brings back a couple of very specific memories, none of which she wishes to discuss. Not yet. But she does feel more powerful. Her aim is fantastic, so much better than it was already. She's at the archery range once more, this time with a crossbow in her hand. She fingers the tip of her arrow thoughtfully. ]

Could poison it, [ She says out loud. You know what she distinctly remembers about being Skadi? Baldur. ]

[Elizabeth seems to appear out of the shadows, and that's actually because she has. Shadow travel is nothing to her now, after years and years of practice.]

Wolfsbane and they'll go down easy. Silver arrow-tips, too, I'm sure. [She takes a spot next to Allison on the archery range, and in no time at all has her bow strung. She pulls back, releasing her arrow right into the center of the target.]

[ That's the sound of the Hecate counselor stumbling out of her cabin directly after the announcement, tugging her winter boots on, one arm in her anorak. She pulls a beanie over her horrible hair, accidentally swallowing mouthwash as she trips down the stairs.

Sure, she could eat since it's nearly breakfast time, but she's off to look for holes in the borders. Just like old times. ]

[ would natalie like to deal with audrey being the new girl?

too bad. it's gonna happen. she's standing there, just after the announcement, hand on her hip and frowning. she fiddles with the zipper on her coat as she ponders it. ]

I don't get it, [ she says, spotting natalie. ] Evil wolves? Seriously?

[ the log lady used to talk about owls, but this shit's weird. mostly because it actually has a basis. ]

[ As soon as the announcement goes out, Derek makes himself scarce.

It explains why he's been feeling edgy any time he's near the outskirts of camp, but he's less than thrilled to have that information. He's done so well to keep his lineage to himself, to those that he trusts-- the numbers are incredibly limited, to those in his cohort, to the praetors, and to an even smaller number in the Greek camp-- due in part to the grim look on the centaur's face.

Lycaon's pack are monsters, and it's hard for some people to differentiate between them and those that mean no harm to anyone.

So for now, he can be found out by Zeus' Fist, pacing and trying to think. Maybe he can send word to his mother about this, but she would never be able to get to the camp in time to lend any help. Not from clear across the country on such short notice. ]

[Scott's actively seeking out Derek too, after he's done with his pullups. The bad wolves are coming, and Derek's a wolf too which means he's at risk (or something along those lines, he's trying to think as clearly as he can right now). And he's a Legionnaire, and not one single Legionnaire can be put at risk.

So right now he's searching the forest in hopes of finding his friend. He doesn't know if Derek can smell him out, but he's there.]

*Callie is taking this turn of events real well. She's only broken three...*

*Crack.*

*-Four dummies. She's also wearing her street armor, something she hasn't done since she arrived, a scale vest and bracers she usually wears under a shirt or hoodie when she's out and about. Her door is outside of the barrier, it has to be. And it isn't contained in a way she can access it without a short sprint in enemy territory.*

[And Ven had immediately started seeking out Callie when that announcement was made. He knows about her door and can easily put two and two together to realize she's not going to be happy about the restriction to the campgrounds, so he's going to try and make sure she doesn't do anything stupid. Try. At least she's in the practice arena, not anywhere else.]

A. For Chiron

[Lydia approaches the centaur when there's a quiet moment, wanting to speak with him privately. She is hesitant, troubled, confused.]

Sir? I want to talk to you about the wolves. About a particular wolf, actually.

B. For Everyone
[Lydia has stepped up her game in training. She's becoming better with her whiplash every day. She can also be found aiding in research.

However, on her own she's been following a trail in the woods, and it's always the same one. She seems to be searching for something, or perhaps someone.

[ He looks at her with mild alarm on his face in between Iris Messages to various contacts. ]

Yes? You are familiar with a specific wolf out there, Lydia?

Well, I don't know about anyone else - [ Dean pauses to check his gun. Silver bullets are ready to fly. ] - but I'm not going to stand around and wait for them to make the first move. He who moves first always wins.

Not going to say you're right, as you can make the first move and get killed.

But you're not wrong either. If we're smart about it, they won't know what hit them. And I don't like being cut off, it never ends well. Got something silver in a knife or sword?

For Anyone

The Hunters are on it, [She says grimly. They'd had run ins with this particular pack before.] I'll up the patrols, get Songbird to do some more scouting. [And talk with the wolves before she sends them into an early grave. Demigods are friends, not food.]

Anyone who needs help just needs to ask. I'm more than willing and eager. That's what I'm here for, anyway. To help protect camp. No one's getting eaten on my watch.

For Sojourner Sparrow

I think we've got some work to do, [Elizabeth says, approaching her favorite vigilante.] But I want you to be careful.

[What a coincidence, she was just looking for you Elizabeth Lamb.

She grins, pulling her goggles over her eyes.]

What're you talking about? Careful's my middle name!

[This is not good. Annie will tell you that right now. Hungry wolves? Bad bad bad. She knew what wolves could do, having heard enough news reports back in Seattle. There's something else strange here, though, that gnaws at her, deep in her stomach, at the back of her mind. She's not sure why. But she doesn't like it.]

If, uhm, if anyone needs any help... I'm more than willing to help.

[No one wants her help. She's sure of it.]

[On the steps outside Hermes cabin, Dave scrubs his hands up against his face.]

No one will be leaving. This makes what kind of difference? [Muttered against his palms as he pushes himself up to his feet. Dave has no active powers, so to speak, with time travel and visions being on the more passive end of the spectrum despite sweet swordsmanship abilities, so he'll be heading to the Athena cabin to give himself a bit of extra schooling on what they're up against before he decides what he's going to do.

He can be found anywhere on the route or in the cabin itself (after pacing a little back and forth outside). Maybe someone can sway his mind on where he's going to put himself in the end.]
