[ You'll find yourself looking at a grave centaur first thing this morning, just before the Romans start their training. ] Campers, I've an important announcement to make. Now, you know very well that we have protective borders around Camp Half-Blood. After last summer's incident, we've taken great care to ensure that we have several lines of defense with both force and Mist.

Followers of Lycaon - wolves - have been spotted just outside of camp. It is believed that they continue to align themselves with Gaea.

There have been no attacks, but I trust that all of you will keep your eyes and ears open for any signs of trouble. No campers will be leaving. [ Have a pointed look for some of you. ] However, we must keep our wits about us. Prepare accordingly. The Athena cabin has necessary information on the followers should you choose to educate yourselves on the matter. I hope you will.

[There's an expression on his face that can't quite be called a pout but is pretty damn close - Percy's totally one of those dudes that believes the best defense is a good offense. As Chiron well knows.]

What about magically-protected scouting? You know they can't hurt me, and I can get Nat for backup.

[chiron]

[ That's an idea. He asked Annabeth to assemble a patrol team of her own, assuming that she would ask Percy. ]

I don't want the two of you to find yourselves in danger for the third time, Percy. [ Chiron says sternly, lightly shaking a finger. ]

[He's definitely up for it, but he's also up for protecting his own ass, little as it needs it.]

Hey, the first one wasn't our fault! [But the second one totally was.] She can stay in camp, keep an eye on me with her magic. Or Sadie can. But we've gotta do something.

[chiron]

[ That just gets his eyebrows to go up and a small smile briefly pulls at the corner of his mouth. ] Mhm.

No. Be certain that she cloaks both if you when you go patrol. I'll keep Annabeth on the inside, at the edges. [ Nod. ] She will also be able to spot less experienced campers who will try to escape to do their own investigations.

[And he lets out a (pretty obvious) breath of relief when Chiron doesn't object further. He knows he's the safest person to send for this - he can't be bitten, after all.]

Yeah, Annabeth's good at stuff like that. We'll set something up and let you know the details when we've got them.

[chiron]

I trust that you will. I've several calls to make, Percy, so I have to cut this short. [ A more fond smile follows. ] I doubt this will make any sort of impact, but stay out of trouble, you and Natalie.
