[Well, hello there, Camp Halfblood, have a bored looking young man, crossing his arms, and staring out at you with an expression of boredom and arrogance at the same time. Surveying his kingdom, as it were. At least, until he huffs a little, and something of that drops into merely a sulk.]
It occurs to me, Gods favor and patronize whom they will, of course, but back in the real world, that I’ve left behind, there are places where we leave the children no one wanted so the rest of the population can get along with, and go about their daily lives without getting their wrists stepped on each morning, or god forbid, being forced into pretending that we’re all some sort of…happy family
[There would be airquotes around that, if Thomas wasn’t more polished, and as it is, they certainly can be FELT from the way he drawls it out like that. The disdain is more than palpable, even if it IS a tad bit overblown and ventures toward melodramatic.]
As I’ve so lately been informed, this may not be the real world anymore, but wouldn’t it be nice, just think of it, if there were somewhere we could stash the lot of you who Mummy or Daddy hadn't felt the need to bother with just yet until such time as you might become interesting?
And Gods forbid not getting walked all over, but can anybody get a decent cigarette round here at least?

Could always push them into the lava. Although my personal favorite option would be the ant hill.

Remind me to keep you close.

Within striking distance? You sure about that?

[Who's this prick? Greg's really starting to wonder if there'll ever be a Hermes kid he gets along with, because so far his experience with them has been the absolute pits.]
And you've got a lot of nerve to say something like that. Not everyone's so lucky to be claimed; it's bad enough having to wait for it, even worse when we've got idiots like you running your mouths and rubbing the fact in.
IM
Did you just say I made you have a feeling? Oh APOLOGIES.
IM
I feel plenty enough already even without your trash talk. You think it's funny to laugh at someone's bad luck?

I got the goods. What do you got?

[Not that he has MUCH, but there are a few things he's definitely willing to swap for, or favors to owe. It's that or go completely mad while going cold turkey, and there's no way he's doing THAT.
Actually, wait. He recognizes her.]
Might be better if I just showed you. We are siblings, it seems?
[ IM ]
[She rolls her eyes. Gods, she hates using that word to describe, well, people she was related to here.]
Lucky for you, I'm Hermes' kid, too. So I'll take show and tell.

Seems real to me. What are you talking about exactly cause I'm kind of confused here.
[IM]
You remember, when you hadn't been recruited into this...scouting camp...of the gods and left to rack up badges in, I don't know, seducing boys.
[Most of them are greek. It works as an implication and a sneer.]
[IM]
And we don't earn badges. I think if we did hand out brochures you picked up the wrong one for this camp.
[She's smiling, but there may be a glint in her eyes as if asking him 'Are you implying something that I should punch you for...because I get the feeling you are, mister.' Granted, Yang may just be inching for an excuse to fight.]

[Alcuin's lips quirk in a slight smile. He's not serious about that, but Thomas's disdain is just too ridiculous.]
no subject
[He's smiling back but it's not quite amused yet.]
Competent enough that no one's parents are so fully humiliated to claim them, I suppose.
no subject
[He didn't spend any time there, though- he was claimed before he went to camp. He's seen the crowded cabin, though.]
But really, I doubt it's humiliation that keeps them from being claimed. The gods just don't pay enough attention to us.

[IM]
If I were you, I wouldn't act so ungrateful to be where you are. This is the real world, as far as you're concerned. It may not be ideal, but most don't ever get the opportunity to see it.
[IM]
[Thomas might as well clear up his thoughts on that part too, while he's at all of this. Camp's just another place, on the list of many in his life where he isn't going to find anything good waiting for him, and is going to have to carve it out by himself. Which, ultimately means he'll have to work with this all on his own, but he doesn't have to try to like the fact, or anybody here, to do it.]
But I'm willing to look grateful, I suppose. Provided somebody shows me some reason for it.
no subject
It's all "shite," both in here and out there. It just seems to me a little trampling is a lot less inconvenient than death.

[it's the only one crowded enough for that, anyway. he offers a sympathetic smile, but it's hard to keep that little quirk of amusement out of his expression. never has he been so happy to have a cabin to himself.]
IM
Crawling with Gods only know what. [His real father showing up and having a large amount of kids? Well. He can live with that one. Sort of. It's not the sort of thing that's unheard of in Thomas's world. But the being stuck with random outsiders once you know damn well where you belong? Ew...]
Sounds as if you're a bit luckier.
IM
[you'd think they'd have just built a separate cabin for all the strays when they were first expanding the camp after the war, instead of just keeping everyone packed into cabin eleven.]

[ At least that's one decent thing about the Legion. They don't care what your godly blood is so much as how well you work together. ]

[Hey, he just found out about all this demigod stuff like a month ago, at most so it's not like Thomas has any long experience never knowing who his parent IS or anything]
But, I don't know, how do those people manage it?
