First Tale: Arrival // IM

{A sixteen-year-old with large amber eyes, an upturned nose, and brown hair flickers into view, too close to the rainbow at first and then he pulls back, centers himself in the image.}

So, let’s applaud for the Rainbow Connection, everyone. Is that inappropriate to hum or sing? Anyway, I’m Stiles Stilinski. Not really sure what I’m doing around here yet, but I saw some other kid do this, so I figured what the heck, put my face out there a little early.

{His hands come in and out of focus as they wave about around the rainbow.}

So, things I ought to tell everyone....I’m human. Extremely human, and fragile, so all those swords should just stay sheathed around me, alright? Beyond that, I’d appreciate it if someone could give me a hand to where ever new arrivals are supposed to be.

{The colors start to bleed and fade away.}

[Naomi's been out of camp for a week visiting her family for her birthday, so she's only just returning back to camp when Stiles sends out his first message.

She blinks, looking around until she spots him. Biting her lip she uses her good hand to readjust her backpack before grabbing her suitcase - her other arm still in an orange cast - before walking over to him.]

D'you need help?

{He jumps a bit, and turns to face her, eyes sweeping over the cast and the bags she's got.}

Are you sure you don't need help? I can take your suitcase..This is the only thing I've got---?

{He swings his duffle a bit carelessly up on his shoulder and motions to her case. He's not generally one to volunteer for extra physical work, but Mrs. McCall and his dad had made it impossible for him not to automatically offer to those absolutely looking in need of aide.}

[Naomi bites her bottom lip, debating whether or not to take him up on his offer. She ends up shaking her head.]

[Demigods, okay fine, yes. Still breakable and very much mortal? Also yes. They don't exactly have the best mortality rate.]

There's not a specific place, it really depends on where you're staying. Are you a demigod, or...?

[She doesn't spend much time with a lot of the Norse kids unfortunately; that concept makes her head spin even worse then the fact that the Greek gods are a real thing and she's parented from one of them.]

{Stiles looks incredibly uncomfortable at the question, because he's still not sure what's going on, but at least from Hera's cryptic clues and the way he'd watched his mom die slowly, and then his dad almost working himself into an early grave, that he can cross off demigod.}

Nah, like I said I'm pretty normal. {Barring his defective mind and ears.} Just...followed Hera here.

{Stiles stares for a minute, and then his face lights up in the brightest grin it's had probably since Scott left Beacon Hills. He should have guessed that a mystical bus trip from hell across the continental USA would lead him to a prize better than one he could have asked for, his best friend.}

Yeah--still here. I think I accidentally stuck my hand in it...That or it was the joke about the Rainbow Connection. Don't know which, I'll have to experiment and find out later.
