First Tale: Arrival // IM
{A sixteen-year-old with large amber eyes, an upturned nose, and brown hair flickers into view, too close to the rainbow at first and then he pulls back, centers himself in the image.}
So, let’s applaud for the Rainbow Connection, everyone. Is that inappropriate to hum or sing? Anyway, I’m Stiles Stilinski. Not really sure what I’m doing around here yet, but I saw some other kid do this, so I figured what the heck, put my face out there a little early.
{His hands come in and out of focus as they wave about around the rainbow.}
So, things I ought to tell everyone....I’m human. Extremely human, and fragile, so all those swords should just stay sheathed around me, alright? Beyond that, I’d appreciate it if someone could give me a hand to where ever new arrivals are supposed to be.
{The colors start to bleed and fade away.}
Than-
{He cuts out.}

Uh, yes? That's what I said. Should I know you...?
{It seems like she recognizes him, but he's not sure why.}

[She laughs, blowing a dread out of her eyes.]
I'm Sojourner Ayers-Silva, Daughter of Nike. Whiiiich, kind of makes me Scoot's aunt. He talks about you a lot.
no subject
{He's got no apology for that bad joke, just a grin, and then a surprised face. There's only one person that might be outside of Beacon Hills and might be named something like Scoot that would talk about him.}
Wait--Scott's here? And you're his aunt?
no subject
[She shrugs, giving a twitter of a laugh.]
He'll be happy to see you! He's been kind of down.
no subject
{He's been gone for years. Left Stiles behind, and it turns out he's been a god's grandkid all this time. Stiles is still happy, still so hopeful about he best friend being there, but he's a little scared that Scott's outgrown him, too.
He laughs a little stiltedly with her. He's amused, but distracted by his own worries. He's been down since Scott left, but maybe if what Sojourner's saying is true....He might have come at the perfect time to make Scott need him again.}
I'll be--It'll be great to see him again. I haven't been having the best time of it either.

[She rubs the back of her neck, looking down guiltily.]
Normally we're just a summer camp. Well, okay, Camp Half-Blood, this one, is a summer camp but I think Camp Jupiter, Scoot's camp, was the same. Some kids end up being year rounders but it wasn't normal up until last summer...
[And she hadn't been there to help anyone...
Sojourner shakes those thoughts away, looking back up at Stiles with a warm smile.]
Not that it's my place, especially since we just met, but hey you need an ear I've got two good ones. If you're a friend of Scoot's, you're a friend of mine.
no subject
When she shakes it off, he makes an effort to hide his own thoughts behind a smarmy grin. It's weird to have someone approach him for friendship, and it's a little lackluster coming because of Scott instead of his own merit, but he's never been so rich in friends that he can turn one down, or that he'd even want to turn one down.}
Thanks, I can use all the friends I can get, I'm sure. And that goes for you in return, if you want to talk about it--I wasn't there, it won't dredge up stuff for me, and though Scott might have told you otherwise, I can sit still and listen.
no subject
You look like the kind of guy that would have people lining up to be his friend! [She's serious about that too.]
Ah, thanks. [She appreciates the offer.] But no way I'm bringing the mood down. It's you're first day after all!
no subject
{He shrugs like it doesn't bother him that he came from somewhere they didn't recognize his particular charms.}
Well, not today, it's probably not a good thing to spill your guts to a relative stranger, but if you want to later....I'm sure I'll be around.
no subject
[Sojourner hasn't even known Stiles for five minutes but is already prepared to defend his honor, it seems.
She looks at him, her lips quirking up in an almost bitter way. It's gone in a flash.
Considering how hard it is to spill her actual guts to friends? Yeah.]
My dads always tell me sometimes strangers are the best? But! another time. Maybe. Let's show you around first, maybe see if we can't find Scoot.
no subject
{He half strikes a pose with a grin before dropping it.}
Sometimes they are, but it also helps to have friends that know so they can help you out when you need it most--without you having to explain or ask for help.
{Scott's done it so many times for him since his mom's death he lost count.}
Sure, let's explore.
no subject
Don't mind her if she opts not to continue down the depressing road about talking.]
Alright, well first things first, what cabin is yours?
no subject
{He laughs with her.}
no subject
[She pivots on her feet, taking a step back and then tuning to face him again with her hands on her hips.]
Alright! How'd you know to come here?
