Petal 01 - IM - open to action or whatever

[The IM today shows the recently arrived counselor of the Demeter cabin, rubbing the back of his neck a little awkwardly. When he speaks, he has a light French accent]

Sorry I haven’t been to camp in a while. [More like "since the whole Titan fiasco started"] Mama--ah, my stepmother, not..you know--didn’t want me over in the States with all the chaos going on and then there was a problem with my passport. For those of you who are new, I’m Jean Prouvaire of the Demeter cabin, though I really prefer it if people use 'Jehan'. I'm the counselor for my cabin as well.

[He smiles]

Um, if anyone needs any help, anything at all, I’d be happy to help. You don’t have to be in my cabin or anything. I’m usually outside somewhere and if you can’t find me one of the nymphs should be able to.

[He waves and cuts the IM]

[There's a hint of a smile on his face when he walks over to the Demeter Cabin. He had been wondering when Jehan would be coming back, if he would be coming back. When he gets closer to the cabin Enjolras gives a simple wave.]

Jehan! It's good to see you back.

[shylyintrepid]

Enjolras!

[Jehan grins when he spots his friend and abandons his flower pot (he's attempting to grow Christmas roses) to go and greet him.]

I'm glad to be be back. I love my home, but there's only so much of my father I can take before I want to strangle him. I was so close to it before I finally left. So close.

[He still might, honestly]

What's been going on here? I heard something about Romans?

Well I'm glad you managed to restrain yourself. I don't think we would have been able to bail you out of prison from here.

[He frowns a little.]

Is everything alright, at home I mean?

[The question makes him shake his head, sighing.]

Quite a bit has been happening. And yeah - there's also a few people from the Norse pantheon and magician from Egypt here now.

[shylyintrepid]

[Jehan waves off Enjolras's question. Jehan's father is a massive jerkass and is the source of pretty much all of Jehan's non-divine problems. His stepmother makes up for it, though, or tries to.]

As good as it ever is. Did you say Norse? And magicians?

[There's a frown, but Enjolras doesn't push the question.]

As I said, a lot has been happening.

[He sighs, dragging a hand through his hair. A lot has been happening and Enjolras hasn't been sleeping properly.]

To begin, Camp Jupiter has been destroyed.

[shylyintrepid]

...oh. That explains the Romans, I suppose.

[And bodes terribly for the rest of them.]

Were the...camps or wherever of the Norse and the Egyptian kids destroyed too?

Sorry, I didn't mean to bring bad news the moment you arrived.

[He offers an apologetic smile. He really didn't.]

As for them... I have no idea. Hera seems to be guiding them here.

No, it's fine. I need to know so I can be prepared if any...is it Ceres? Any of my mother's Roman children show up.

[This is going to be a fun summer. Jehan might have to stay in the states this fall if it's that bad.

It takes him a moment, but he frowns when he realizes who Enjolras said is guiding kids here]

...Hera? Why is Hera doing that and not Hermes or the saytrs?

[Naomi was in the arts and craft cabin when she saw Jehan's message. A nervous lump forms in her stomach, because she's never going to get use to introducing herself to new siblings.

It's only after an hour or two of purposely putting it off with crafts and one bracelet that she drags herself out of the cabin and heads towards her own. Her fingers fiddle with the hem of her shirt as she approaches Jehan.]

Umm... S'cuse me?

Yes?

[Jehan smiles. He's not sure he recognizes this girl, but that doesn't mean much of anything with him. A haircut can throw him off if it's been a while since he's seen someone. Either way, unless she's going to turn into some sort of half human half bird thing and eat him, he sees this as a chance to make a friend]

Can I help you?

[She takes a very deep breath, resisting the urge to run away.]

'm Naomi, um, Naomi Mikano! You said you're were the counselor for the Demeter Cabin? So I, um, that makes you my brother?

[This was not the most graceful of introductions. Her eyes go from looking at him to the ground.]

[shylyintrepid]

[Oh! A new sister! Jehan is sorely tempted to hug her--that's kind of what he does--but she seems so scared and shy that he manages to restrain himself.

For now.]

Yes! I'm Jehan. It's nice to meet you, Naomi, and I'm really sorry I got here so late. Passports are the bane of my existence, I swear. There hasn't been any trouble, has there?

[Don't worry, the moment she comes out of her shyness she'll be giving Jehan hugs. She likes hugs.

Biting her lip she thinks over the question, then takes a big breath.]

Sorta! I mean Athena got maaaad at the entire camp so she cursed everybody's cabin but hers 'nd ours got covered in weeds 'nd Anna was away on a quest so I had to de-weed it myself. But! I got a lot of help! Theeeen Aretmis got angry at the whole camp 'nd turned us all into animals!

[shylyintrepid]

[Whoa, that's a lot of not terribly clear English. Jehan gets the gist of it, though, and winces when Naomi describes the goddess's curses]

Any idea what made them so mad? Or who?

[Well, he can guess who pissed Artemis off. It was probably some boy trying to be cute and hit on a hunter or the goddess herself.]

[Sorry, she has the habit of speaking quickly when she has an awful lot to say. She bites her lip again, tilting her head to the side as she tries to remember what had happened.]

I think... We didn't honor Athena. I think. And someone picked on one of Artemis's Hunters.

It's quite good to see you back, Jehan.

[Dany gives him a polite smile on the other side of the Iris Message and a little wave. It looks as if she's sitting on the shores of the lake.]

We've all missed you.

[shylyintrepid]

[He grins and waves back]

Bonjour, Dany. It sounds like things have been crazy while I was gone.

[wokethedragon]

Indeed. At times, I wonder how the camp is still standing.

[She looks in the direction of the cabins, then back to the IM.]

You'll be happy to know that the Demeter cabin has been ridded of its weed problem.

Naomi mentioned the weed problem. How did we not honor Athena? Did someone destroy a statue?

I've no idea, sadly.

[She frowns, thinking for a second, but nothing really comes to mind.]

I was sleeping in my bed one night, and the next, it had broken.

[shylyintrepid]

[He winces]

That doesn't sound pleasant at all. You weren't hurt, were you? When the bed broke?

[Meanwhile he's silently thanking his mother that his passport had expired without him realizing it. He loves his siblings and friends at camp, but weeds really aggravate him, especially when they're divine weeds. Weed-B-Gone won't work on those.]

Not in the slightest - in fact, I did not feel it until I woke up. Athena is as clever as she is rumored to be.

[She did, however, have to deal with the aftermath, which she assumes was just as unpleasant as pulling weeds - tedious, and above her.]

Tell me, how are you feeling?

[ He's usually not that thrilled about Demeter kids. Kind of sees them as flower hippies tbh. But he's another counselor so. ]

Ben, Ares counselor. I'm taking over while Clarisse is out.

[ which idek a reason for lalala, we don't have a clarisse player lalala shh ]

You missed out. The chaos was a lot of fun.

[Clarisse is out? Huh]

Nice to meet you, Ben. I've, ah, heard about the chaos. Curses and elephants and magicians...I'm afraid I'll go to bed and wake up with a horde of Munchkins or something running around, if all that can happen in a few weeks.

[ A snorted laugh and he shrugs ] Wouldn't put it past Camp on a good day, even. I'll send out an alert if I see any munchkins sneaking around.
