IM | MAY 4, 2014
[The IM opens up on Scott sitting outside the Nike cabin, rubbing at some of his armor with a cloth, and for a moment, he stares up into the sunlight reflected through the rainbow, a little at a loss for words. He's responded to a lot of others' IMs in the past - in fact, it's how he's met all the new people at this camp, usually. But he's never really been one to send them out on his own.
In truth, what he told Tris the other day is true. He does kind of miss the eagles.]
Um, hey guys. I don't usually make these on my own, so - uh, I'm Scott McCall, Fourth Cohort.
[He pauses for a second, kind of unsure what to say about this, how to say it. Now, he thinks, there's going to be a lot of things in his life he's unsure about what to do with. Particularly the part where he turns into a furry, monstrous thing once a month.]
I just wanted to let you all know that two of my cohort members - my friends - Zack Fair and Derek Hale - they're not at camp anymore. Cohort business, I think. I figured they were probably some of your friends, so I thought you might wanna know.
[He leaves it a little vague on both ends, shaking his head. Scott leaves the line open, but goes back to cleaning the armor.]

IM
[Surprise! Actual emotion beyond mildly amused and annoyed from Tybalt]

You can say that again.

[A little nod there, a more solemn one than usual.]
I'm still kind of figuring this thing out. But I guess I'm more on my own, now.

[Scott shakes his head sadly, looking up into the rainbow.]
I don't really know any more than you do right now. Wasn't expecting it.

I'm Four. I don't know if we've ever properly met. I'm from the First Cohort.
no subject
[He still remembers the barracks of the Fourth at Camp Jupiter every night in the summers - though that's almost a year ago, now. It's weird how time flies.]
No, I don't think so. I'm Scott. [A little pause.] Four - like the number?
[From anybody else, it might sound a little confused, maybe even judgey. But not from Scott. After all, his best friend in the whole world only goes by 'Stiles'.]
no subject
[ he nods in understanding. being alone really isn't ideal. Sometimes time flies and sometimes it seems to crawl. There are days that Camp Jupiter seems so far away, Four is convinced it must have been years that he was on his own. ]
Four, like the number. It's nice to meet you, Scott. [ Maybe eventually Four will come clean with a few people about his real name, or why he goes by Four, but for now he's happy enough that Scott doesn't seem bothered by it. ]

Auntie senses tingling.
Watch out Scoot, you're about to get side tackled into a hug. Don't ask where she came from.]

Um...Sojo? What's up?
no subject
[The 'duh' should be obvious. After a moment she pushes herself back up, taking a seat besides him. Once he's properly seated though her arms are back around him.]
And your cohort-mates've left.

[Finding the drachma to do it, of course, is another thing entirely. Still, Scott's hands come up to rest on her forearm.]
I'm worried about them, Sonourner. I want to protect them.
no subject
[She's got a stash of drachma's if you ever want one Scoot.]
Natural to feel worried about them. Did they say why they had to leave?

You okay?

Not really, no.
[Natalie's a counselor, and she's never steered him wrong before. Maybe she's good at advice.]
no subject
[ A beat. ]
I'm not Stiles but we are related, so.
no subject
[He shrugs a little bit- though damn, he really does miss Stiles. He'd ought to check up on him soon - see how he's doing, his mom.]
Hey Natalie, can we...talk? Somewhere not over the rainbow.
no subject
[ Well, that was a surprise but she wouldn't turn him down. He's right - she's a counselor. Even if her siblings and the other guys in her cabin don't need her advice, she can maybe help someone else. ]
Sure. Where should I find you?

I dunno. I guess I'm more shocked than anything, y'know? Didn't expect it.

You wanna go practice with me in the Arena for a while?
no subject
I'd really like that. Have you thought about what kind of tactics you could develop with a two-legged partner while you're on four?
[The possibilities make her thoughtful.]
