IM | MAY 4, 2014
[The IM opens up on Scott sitting outside the Nike cabin, rubbing at some of his armor with a cloth, and for a moment, he stares up into the sunlight reflected through the rainbow, a little at a loss for words. He's responded to a lot of others' IMs in the past - in fact, it's how he's met all the new people at this camp, usually. But he's never really been one to send them out on his own.
In truth, what he told Tris the other day is true. He does kind of miss the eagles.]
Um, hey guys. I don't usually make these on my own, so - uh, I'm Scott McCall, Fourth Cohort.
[He pauses for a second, kind of unsure what to say about this, how to say it. Now, he thinks, there's going to be a lot of things in his life he's unsure about what to do with. Particularly the part where he turns into a furry, monstrous thing once a month.]
I just wanted to let you all know that two of my cohort members - my friends - Zack Fair and Derek Hale - they're not at camp anymore. Cohort business, I think. I figured they were probably some of your friends, so I thought you might wanna know.
[He leaves it a little vague on both ends, shaking his head. Scott leaves the line open, but goes back to cleaning the armor.]

[He shrugs a little bit- though damn, he really does miss Stiles. He'd ought to check up on him soon - see how he's doing, his mom.]
Hey Natalie, can we...talk? Somewhere not over the rainbow.
no subject
[ Well, that was a surprise but she wouldn't turn him down. He's right - she's a counselor. Even if her siblings and the other guys in her cabin don't need her advice, she can maybe help someone else. ]
Sure. Where should I find you?
no subject
[It's not that he's bad at talking about how he feels - no, quite the contrary. And Scott's pretty much one to wear his emotions on his sleeve - it's easy to tell when he's angry, frustrated, happy. But right now he needs a little bit of counsel, and well - that's what a counselor is for, right? Among other things.
He gives her a little smile - with teeth this time - and waves away the rainbow. He'll be sitting by the piled canoes when she gets there.]

[ She nods, curious about what the conversation will bring. They don't talk very often but she doesn't mind lending an ear. Hopefully, she won't crash and burn at this.
Natalie easily appears by the canoes, hands in the pockets of her hoodie. ] What's up?

It's vaguely animalistic, and he wonders if it's going against Roman tradition, goes against his cohort. He wonders a lot of things - but so much of this werewolf thing in general is him going by ear.]
Tybalt says that wolves have packs - all wolves, werewolves included. And that it doesn't...aways have to be other werewolves in a pack.

[ Natalie takes a seat inside one of the upright vessels, stretching her long legs out and reaching to grasp her ankles. ] Wolves are better off in some group anyway. Never heard or read anything about many successful lone wolves.

[It gets a grin out of him, a natural, easy one - but focus, Scott. There are bigger things to talk about here.]
Yeah. I think...I think that's true for most animals - I mean, birds fly together when they want to all go the same place. Even...I mean, I've heard people say before that even humans are animals. People need people.
[A beat.]
I think I have my own pack here.
no subject
So, yeah, I guess a lot of the time there's a natural leader too. Maybe you're that guy.
no subject
If I told you I felt like you were part of my pack...what do you think that would be like?
no subject
His question surprises her. Scott's always been nice to her and they do have her bother in common. Still, she never thought they were particularly close ... ]
I guess I'd just wonder how I'd fit in, but mostly I'd be flattered.
no subject
[A little grin, an earnest one. This is good - it's helping Scott a lot, even if he did just experience some loss.]
You're smart - really smart - and you're honest. And you're crazy talented. If I was to have a wolf pack...or a wolf/human pack, or something, I think I'd want somebody like that on my side.
no subject
[ Natalie laughs, maybe blushing, rubbing her neck under her messy hair bun. ]
Are you seriously recruiting people for your pack? Because you're the only dude I know who can do this all genuinely and be met with genuine responses.
no subject
[He nods a bit. It's easier to talk about now that it's not in the open.]
I mean, i think this is way better than how I read Lycaeon asks people to be in his pack. Which, uh? According to the books, he doesn't.
no subject
You've been brushing up on your wolf lore, too. Probably one of the most prepared werewolves I've ever met and I have met like ... two. The attackers so don't count, especially that one that's supposed to be my half-sister. Gross.
no subject
Wait, wait - there was a wolf that was a daughter of Hecate? Or Trivia?
no subject
[ If Scott's leveled up this much while being a legacy, she can't imagine how powerful that wolf must have been. ] Of course, your girlfriend got her back, so.
no subject
[He nods a little bit, scratching the back of his neck. He's still not sure how to approach what Allison did around other campers, even if they've talked about it and it was so long ago and it seems like she's repaired ties with a good lot of them. It's different for others, and he tries to be sensitive to those sorts of issues when he can. He's silent for a minute.]
Hopefully we won't have to go through something like that again.
no subject
I'm not much of an optimist but I don't see the likes of that happening any time soon. I think things are just... different around here.
