So, here's something I've noticed... And I just-- let me know if I'm wrong, kay? But there's a lot of emphasis this time of year on bloody kissing traditions with all these holidays. It's kind of stupid, yeah? Mistletoe: Kiss. Midnight of the new year? OH, better have your loved one, or a complete stranger, to kiss!

It's ridiculous.

I thought kissing people unless they were 'more than a friend' was wrong..? But there does seem to be a lot of this during the winter.

It's just for fun, besides, I think a lot of those traditions are phasing out.

When you only kissed straight girls or gay guys under the mistletoe? And no bloody new year's kiss while everyone else seemed to pair off without a hitch?

It's a bit to be irritated with.

I can understand being irritated, but you shouldn't put so much emphasis on traditions like this. I'm sure not every one paired off. Our gender proportions are way off for that.

I would be fine with following a new tradition that doesn't rely on all that. Being required to find a partner in order to participate takes much of the fun out of it. These holidays shouldn't really be designed to cause unnecessary annoyance, but alas that's mere wishful thinking.

The wonderful thing about all of it is that it's entirely optional. At the end of the day, no one has to kiss anyone, much less anyone they don't want to.

That's a wonderful thing, sure... But what about those that want to but don't have anyone to kiss?

It's a time of the year when our media is even more hyper focused on family and romance than it usually is, so people invent excuses to try and catch just a bit of that feeling of being connected to other people in the way society tells us we should be. Since kidnapping kids is generally discouraged, most go for kissing.

Logical. But still pretty dumb...

I'd almost prefer kidnapping kids to this feeling, honestly. [Teased. See, she's in a bad mood about it, but she can still joke around!]
