So, here's something I've noticed... And I just-- let me know if I'm wrong, kay? But there's a lot of emphasis this time of year on bloody kissing traditions with all these holidays. It's kind of stupid, yeah? Mistletoe: Kiss. Midnight of the new year? OH, better have your loved one, or a complete stranger, to kiss!

It's ridiculous.

The wonderful thing about all of it is that it's entirely optional. At the end of the day, no one has to kiss anyone, much less anyone they don't want to.

That's a wonderful thing, sure... But what about those that want to but don't have anyone to kiss?

Well, maybe someone can assist you on that count. Even if this year got missed, there's three hundred and sixty-four days to make sure you're not lacking for next New Year's Eve.

Would it be too imposing to ask who you have your eye on?

Is that all you Aphrodite kids do? Matchmake or whatever? I don't really have my eye on anyone-- It's all been the principal of the matter kind of thing I guess.

Oh, no. We totally give makeovers too. And make people fall in love with us, and break their hearts.

[Lydia's gaze sharpens into something a lot less airheaded.]

No, it isn't all of what we do, but it is something we're good at. There are worse gifts than being good at knowing how to bring two people together in a way that might make them happy. You can complain about principles all you want, but if you're not willing to do something about changing the situation you're complaining about...

[She leaves it off there.]

Definitely did not mean it as rude as it sounded, but honestly. With that mistletoe stunt? Totally ended up making out with a gay guy and straight girls. That's it.

It's not like I expect the love of my life to be at this camp or whatever. I just don't like constant reminders that I'm by myself.

But the only person who made you kiss anybody was you? It's not like the mistletoe was enchanted or anything.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't kiss anyone on New Years either. And trust me, I do understand. I mean, I'm never sure if someone actually likes me or if it's just amokinetic resonance from being Aphrodite's child.

If you're not okay with being by yourself, don't be by yourself. There is a certain element of this that you have control over.

Well, no. And look, it was fun and all-- but the fact that wasn't anyone I even remotely had a chance with? Kind of frustrating.

I only have so much control over that... And being stuck here kind of sucks and really brings down the slim pickings to even slimmer ones.
