First Fear | Action

[ Four doesn't have much use for the ims, not yet anyway. Instead, he'd rather explore, get the lay of this place first hand. No one would realize it to look at him, but he is infinitely glad to be back in a somewhat familiar setting. It's not Camp Jupiter, but it's not constantly moving around. It's not endangering anyone. It's safe. That's something that Four hasn't felt in more than a year. Sure, it's far more relaxed than what he's accustomed to (and he's not entirely sure how he feels about that) but it's a camp environment and he's been told that there are campers here that he knows. It's not home, but it's close enough for the moment.

Come bother the new camper, don't let the fact that he's stalking around with a scowl on his face dissuade you. He doesn't bite. Mostly. ]

[She listens attentively. Mary likes to know about a lot of things, and understanding the Legion's social and political structure means she'll be able to interact with them on a diplomatic level more adequately in the future.]

And you said you were part of the Fourth Cohort? What did that entail? Why were you selected for it? What was the process like?

[She has the grace to look a bit sheepish.] I'm sorry. I realize how nosy I must sound, and these might be matters not shared with outsiders. But I can't deny that it's rather fascinating.

[She's nodding her head.] I'm sure you're at least somewhat familiar with vikings? The Norse are a warrior culture. Not quite so regimented, but there is a standard to uphold. Though admittedly my own role is not one of warrior.

[It doesn't mean Mary can't wield a blade if necessary, but in truth, she's more of a diplomat. And that's perhaps as it should be.]

Not as such. The Norse gods do have symbols that are elements of their representation and worship, as the Greek and Roman gods do, but it's less formal.

Actually, that's not quite true. The formality has different parameters. What is important in terms of sanctity, the offerings that were given, the qualities that were valued...they were no less important, just different.
