First Fear | Action
[ Four doesn't have much use for the ims, not yet anyway. Instead, he'd rather explore, get the lay of this place first hand. No one would realize it to look at him, but he is infinitely glad to be back in a somewhat familiar setting. It's not Camp Jupiter, but it's not constantly moving around. It's not endangering anyone. It's safe. That's something that Four hasn't felt in more than a year. Sure, it's far more relaxed than what he's accustomed to (and he's not entirely sure how he feels about that) but it's a camp environment and he's been told that there are campers here that he knows. It's not home, but it's close enough for the moment.
Come bother the new camper, don't let the fact that he's stalking around with a scowl on his face dissuade you. He doesn't bite. Mostly. ]

[She pauses a moment to compose herself before continuing on.]
When did you come here?
no subject
Today. I've been here all of...an hour. Maybe.

[She's not quite sure - the Greeks like her wear their camp beaded necklaces, but she hasn't checked his arm for the mandatory Roman tattooing. Right now she's more concerned about weeding out potential threats. The camp's been attacked by newcomers too much lately for her to not be suspicious.]
I never did understand why some would want to keep a fish as a pet. You can't interact with them much.
no subject
[ He tilts his chin up, obvious pride in his stance and body language. ] Roman. You?
[ Oh it's there on his arm beneath his shirt along with a number of other tattoos put there for various reasons, with various meaning. He's not here to attack the camp though. He's very glad to be here, to be somewhere that seems even a little familiar. ]
I wouldn't know. I've never had a fish, or a pet of any kind. My father thought pets were too indulgent.

[There's a straightening of her back to match his own - she's quite proud of her heritage herself, especially since it partially brought her these dragons.
Even if she did get in trouble for it later.]
Perhaps you'd want to try it. Companionship is valuable.
no subject
In case you missed it, warm and fuzzy isn't in my repertoire.
no subject
I'd be inclined to agree with you there. My dragons are neither.
[Though, she doesn't think of them as pets, or even companions.]
no subject
I'd think weapon is a more appropriate word. [For the dragons or him? Both most likely.]
no subject
[And out it comes. Though it could be argued that sometimes, especially considering how much she's been training them, she might treat them as a weapon.]
no subject
[ Okay, now he's confused. ]
Your children? Are you a dragon goddess I've not heard of? [ Curiosity not meant to offend. He certainly doesn't know all the deities of all the pantheons. ]
no subject
[Though she's heard that Demeter's chariot is pulled by two beautiful ones.]
I hatched them, and they see me as their mother. I've grown accustomed to the role - they are mine.
no subject
I've heard some animals do that, imprint upon the first person they see.
no subject
[It took some time to get used to - not long, of course, because she took to them quickly - her family's symbol was a dragon long ago, her brother said, after all - identified with them, almost.]
no subject
[ Four nodded a little. He wasn't certain about them, but he'd withhold any sort of real judgement until he'd observed them and Dany a little more. ]
They're still young, aren't they?
no subject
[She nods a little, stepping closer as Viserion cranes his neck out, motioning for him to move forward, to check Four out.]
They grow much more quickly than I anticipated. There's not much lore here on these sorts of dragons - much of what I have to go by is from Peleus, our guard dragon at the mouth of camp.
no subject
We're fortunate to be able to study them then.
no subject
I'm hoping they grow to be as well-trained as Peleus is.
[Shoulders still straight and tall, but her eyes relax a little. You're okay, Four.]
What is your name, then?
no subject
[ Four nods a little. ] That would certainly make them more useful.
Four. [ He responds.] If I go to shake your hand, are they going to attack? [ He nods to the dragons. ]
no subject
Daenerys Targaryen, daughter of Hephaestus. These are my children, Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal.
[She motions to each dragon in turn with her free hand - black, cream and gold, green.]
no subject
[ Four shakes her hand.]
It's nice to meet you, Daenerys. [ He nods in turn to the dragons.]
How much of what we say do they understand? [ He's curious]
no subject
[She crouches down to get closer on their level, expecting him to do much of the same.]
They've only learned to do certain things I ask of them when I ask them to do it in Greek.
no subject
[ Four muses that, remaining still. He's not a statue, but he's not making any forward movements either. He frowns a little watching them then addresses them in Latin, not giving them a command, just introducing himself. He's curious if they understand Latin or only Greek.]
no subject
I'm not sure it worked.
no subject
I'm fairly sure it didn't. [ He shrugs a little. ] It's okay. I was just curious if they understood Latin as well as Greek.
