[ What a time to be coming back to the Greek camp. Derek can't believe that his mom's kicked him out of California right before his birthday, but then again he's not really that surprised. Maybe she thinks it's an appropriate birthday present, actually giving him something to do and trusting that he'll make it to Camp Halfblood in one piece. Hell if he knows, he's just glad to be done with traveling.
He arrives on the outskirts while still wolf-shaped, shifting his weight back and forth before howling, like he's calling out-- he sort of is, for anyone in his Cohort that would recognize the cry, as well as to let Lupa know that he's back, if the goddess is still around. But after that, he weasels the strap of his bag off from around his neck so he can shift back.
When he's fully dressed again and adjusting the bag's strap so he can carry it over his shoulder, Camp Jupiter purple standing out, he slowly steps through the gates to the camp, brows raised while he scans the area, as if scoping out whether anyone's around or not.
At least he has some idea of where to go, even if it's been months since he was here. ]

Derek's here again. No way.
And he doesn't know - he doesn't know if Centurion Hale's sent his fellow legionnaire back, or what - he hasn't even heard from her in ages.
But Scott McCall is nothing if not loyal - to his family, to his friends, to Rome. But especially to his friends, and Derek? Intimidating (and sometimes a little creepy) that the guy was, he considers him one of his friends.
So he's heading over to the gates, only his sword at his side for once. The lacrosse stick he keeps with him is in the cabin - it's gotten worn out, anyway. He'll need a new one soon.]
Derek- hey, is that you?

A small, if slightly lopsided, smile quirks at the corner of his mouth, and he speeds up a little to emerge from the foliage and mists that surround the Greek camp. It's been a while since he last saw Scott, and while they weren't the best of friends, he was still pack in the wolf's mind.
Laura would be relieved to know he was still all right. ]
It's me.
[ He spreads an arm out, as if presenting himself for inspection. He's a little scruffier than the last time he was in camp, but it's been a while and he's been traveling for quite some time now. ]
Hey, Scott.
no subject
Hey! Uh, you look...are you doing that thing - what's it called? Movember?
[Scott hasn't quite ever been able to grow a mustache that doesn't make him look like anything other than a kid growing peach fuzz, let alone a beard.]
no subject
[ Not that he really minds it any, he's been covered in actual fur for a good chunk of his life. ]
no subject
[Scott's never been exactly the best conversationalist with people who kind of confuse him, like Derek. But it's not like Derek talks much, anyway.]
Where's Centurion Hale? Didn't she come back with you here?
no subject
We'll look it up later, because now I'm not going to stop thinking about it until we figure out what it's for. [ He snorts a little, but then cocks his head wolfishly at Scott's question. ]
She's doing double duty trying to gather up the rest of the cohort and pack business for our mother.
no subject
[Scott gets that. He's definitely a different person than he was before he got lost in the woods for those few weeks, separated from the cohort as they traveled east to the Greek camp. He likes to think he's a little more independant.]
Hey, that's - that's great of her. Maybe more people from the Fourth will show up soon. She knows how to get here, now...
no subject
Considering the Scott in front of him and comparing to the Scott that first joined their Cohort, he can already tell the difference between the two. It's still good to see him again, but now he's going to have to learn who this new legionnaire is. ]
Yeah, and she can guide them back here if she finds anyone. If she's not busy with packs that aren't aligned with Lycaon, anyways.
no subject
[He lets out a little sigh, sticking his hands back in his pockets. That guy was ancient, early. And being a werewolf - the first werewolf - well, that's probably how he's stick around so long. Scott doesn't exactly know. There's not much he knows about this wolf business besides what Derek's told him.]
I'm still really surprised people still ally with him. Don't they know he's bad news?
no subject
[ And he was never thrilled about it. Wolves could identify each other pretty easily, and it took all of a second for his combined lineage to make him the perfect target for Lycaon's wolves. "Traitor," and all that.
Derek is glad that there's sanctuary here in Camp Halfblood, and that so few people know. ]
Maneaters and more feral-minded wolves especially.
no subject
[He scowls a little, shaking his head. He thinks...well, he doesn't know, but the fact that some werewolves actively go out seeking to screw with mortals lives and possibly eat them?
Not only is that gross, but it's - that's screwed up, it's fucked up in ways he can't describe.]
no subject
[ He works his jaw a little as he thinks about it, considers how many people have died because of Lycaon's packs. How many good packs have been persecuted because of their actions, or killed by their own kind.
Derek is proud of what he is, and hates that he has to hide the other half of his family because of the prejudice that would hunt them all down. ]
no subject
What, are you guys planning a wolf war?
[is that what they'd call it? He doesn't know. But now...is not exactly the best time to stage a wolf war, he thinks.]
no subject
No, we're not planning a wolf war. It's to keep one another safe, and to maybe help find and protect demigods.
no subject
But he's the grandson of the goddess of victory. He surprises himself all the time.]
I like the sound of that a lot better. You guys have your heads on straight.
no subject
He even actually looks amused still, instead of irritated over Lycaon. ]
The only things that are actually effective against us are silver and wolfsbane, so. We're pretty damn resilient, enough that we'd make good escorts for any lost demigod.
no subject
[Even if they don't do it at the Greek camp, Scott's still celebrating.
He doesn't quite know what wolfsbane is, though.]
You guys ever...look into that?
