[Apollo Scouts, take two!

When Charlie hasn't been worrying over Eponine or trying to hone his mad slingshot skills, he's been pouring over Apollo Scout ideas -- badges, activities they can do, maybe even trips outside of camp! He'd have to run that last one by Tai or someone first, though, but still, it's something he's been thinking about.

He's going around camp today with a bunch of handmade posters and a roll of tape (deja vu,) hanging them up on trees or leaving a small stack at each cabin. They're all done in bright orange, red, and yellow markers with pictures of suns, but they all read about the same: "Join the Apollo Scouts, everyone welcome! Badges, contests, cool stuff! First meeting soon! Talk to Charlie in cabin seven!"

He really does love his exclamation points.

Later, to really make sure that people have seen the posters, he cheerfully announces via IM:]

Hey, guys! I was thinking that maybe we could have our first Apollo Scout meeting soon, like maybe next week on Saturday? 'Cause I've been thinking about a lot of cool ideas and I made some badges and stuff, and I think it would be really fun and I wanna know if anyone else has ideas too.

It'll be super fun, I promise!

[Sadie, if anyone cared to notice, has been insanely busy lately and almost always on an IM or with a bowl of oil scrying. If asked, she said she’ll explain later.

Turns out she doesn’t have to. Late Wednesday an IM starts, broadcasted to the whole camp.

Camp, meet Sadie’s brother Carter Kane, Pharaoh and Eye of Horus. He doesn’t have all the regalia right now, just his crook and flail nearby.

To someone off screen:]

And Sadie said I just...talk?

[Amos’s voice:]

Yes.

[Carter’s face makes it very clear that he serious doubts his sister but whatever. He clears his throat before speaking again, this time much more officially.]

Hello, Camp Half-Blood. I am Carter Kane, Pharaoh of the House of Life and Eye of Horus. I’m pretty sure you all know my sister, Sadie. Let me just say--I’m sorry.

[From the Hecate cabin, you can hear Sadie go “CARTER”. Carter just presses on]

But that isn’t why I’ve sent you this, uh, Iris Message. I understand that the leaders of New Rome are in your camp and I need to speak with them about a small problem we’re having in Egypt with some of their...with some of their dead. If something’s happened and the praetors aren’t there, then I need to speak with whoever’s in charge of New Rome in their stead.
