second feather ✗ action | IM to those addressed.
[So if you happen to be outside in any given number of locations today, and just so happen to feel like having the hem of your shirt or some loose-hanging article of clothing on your person set on fire... Ankh is currently tossing little balls of fire at passers-by from a high-up tree branch in sheer antagonistic boredom.]
[Nothing to hurt anyone, naturally, just enough to startle and singe your favorite tee shirt. He does this in varying locations across camp, never staying in one place for particularly long to avoid getting caught. Sorry not sorry.]
Private to Artemis;
I need to ask you something.
Private to Eiji;
Where are you.
And finally, Private to Naomi;
How about you show me your climbing ability?

[If it's not obvious by the fact that there's miles of strawberry fields behind him.]
IM
IM
[He might be picking up a basket of strawberries.]
IM
Are those free for the taking? [Not relevant to the question Eiji just asked you, Ankh.]
IM
[That's not a location at all, Ankh.]
These? Ah- well. Sort of. Do you want some?
IM
[Back on point;] I'll meet you outside Cabin One. Since you'll be going there eventually anyway.
IM
All right! I'll be there in a few minutes.
IM
[And so Ankh is perched atop Cabin One, waiting.]
IM
[But here he is. With a basket of strawberries. He looks up and waves.]
Yo!
IM; i couldn't resist use of this icon i'm not even sorry

So, what was so important that you had to call me out individually?
no subject
You were present for the discussion about the Red Room. I have some questions.
no subject
Mm. Okay. I don't know a lot more than you, though. We came to camp at roughly the same time.
no subject
[He won't say it, but he trusts your opinion.]
no subject
[He'll offer you the basket this time.]
no subject
Judging from the way Annabeth pondered on it, I'm assuming Egyptian magic has yet to be tested on these Red Room people. I'm consulting Artemis on this as well, but what do you know of specific differences between, say, myself and you? In regard of magic or powers.
[This is... probably the first time Eiji's really seen Ankh seriously consider something that wasn't just for shits and giggles.]
no subject
I don't know very much about the different Pantheon's, but I would think that there would be a considerable difference. How does Egyptian magic work, exactly?
no subject
[He chews thoughtfully on a strawberry.]
no subject
no subject
Hieroglyphs. You essentially write out the incantation-- most of us can speak them, as well. [He demonstrates, picking up another strawberry. He writes out sa-kebeb, not that Eiji can probably read it, which proceeds to freeze the strawberry.]
no subject
Can anyone be a magician?
no subject
Don't be stupid. Why would Egyptians be magicians if anybody could be one?
no subject
I was asking because you really didn't answer my other question. It's not like I can answer how similar we might be unless I actually know how the Egyptians work.
[You won't get the basket back then, rude bird.]
But I guess the truth is, what we know about ourselves is pretty minimal. We know that we're ...reincarnations, I guess. That our power comes from whatever God or Goddess we represent. I didn't have to study or practice- I simply came by my abilities.
no subject
[A huffed sort of sigh.]
I'm not sure if that makes me more or less inclined to question what the hell she wants with Egyptians, then.
no subject
[And Eiji is giving this serious thought.]
The Red Room is a serious threat. It might be that they don't have Egyptians on their side. All of the known members looked to be demigods- so maybe she things Egyptian magic, being as it's so different, would be an advantage?
no subject
...But it would have its advantages, especially if the opposition isn't familiar with Egyptian magic. I wouldn't say it's superior to any other form of magic, but a magician that knows what they're doing... [He flexes the fingers of his right hand, his left curled around his wrist.]
no subject
[He smiles a bit.]
Besides, given the weight of the situation, we should look to all our resources.
no subject
[He shakes his head.] But that's beside the point. Do you know of Annabeth Chase?
[Private IM]
Alright, fire away.
[Private IM]
[Private IM]
[Nothing that a simple background check won't cover.]
What would you like to know?
[Private IM]
She at least seems to know what she's talking about. What of her do you know?
[Private IM]
[Private IM]
The fact that she mentioned wanting to see how Egyptian magic fares against the Red Room leads me to believe it's never been tested before. Do you figure that's due to a lack of willing magicians, or something else?
action
What in the fresh hell was that for?!
action
...You might want to consider not wandering around invisibly where there's fire.

no subject
{This time he jumps to dodge it as best as he can.]
no subject
Boredom? Antagonistic tendencies? Pure, unabashed love of fire? You tell me.
no subject
[His eyes follow Ankh as he hops down from the tree.]
You're interesting.
no subject
I think in this instance "thank you" is the anticipated response.
no subject
[A grin almost like a leer.]
no subject
Who are you, anyway?
no subject
She bites her bottom lip.]
I can't climb anywhere really high right now.

It's almost fully healed.
