[Steve is spending time out at the fireworks beach, today. He certainly isn't annoyed over not getting shooting lessons, not at all. In any case, he's distracting himself by sketching, mostly scenes of the Brooklyn he remembers, his and Bucky's old rooms and the like. He looks up after a moment and waves, with a small smile. (Please do ignore the wheezing that happens every so often, allergies are a bitch.)]

Hey. So -- I'm pretty decent with a pencil, I like to think. So I guess, um, I'll offer up sketches or drawings or whatever you want. Just let me know, huh? I'll be around here for a while.

Not really, I just -- spent a lot of time in bed with nothin' to do when I was a kid.

I'm guessing you were sick often?

[He shrugs a little and smiles.] Yeah. But I had Bucky an' my mom, for a little while.

That's good. I'd imagine it would get lonely. I always hated whenever I would get sick growing up, if my mother couldn't take off I would get stuck with our neighbors checking in on me...

[That was never fun. His neighbor was a woman who smelled of too much perfume..]

Yeah, mostly it was Bucky who checked in on me. My ma was a nurse, so she was pretty busy.

You and Bucky have known each other for a long time, haven't you?

Yup. Since I was six.

That's... And incredibly long time.

[His eyes go a little wide at that.

Truth be told, it also makes him a little jealous.]

Well yeah, I guess, considering the whole hotel an' all. But, uh. [He shrugs a little, and gives Enjolras a slightly sheepish smile.]

It's good he was around, he kept me out of trouble.

I'm sure you kept him out of plenty of trouble too.

[Enjolras is convinced Bucky got into all sorts of shit.]

The Lotus Hotel, right?

....Yeah. Well. Mostly we got into trouble, honestly.

[He nods.]

Yep. My mom told us to go there.

Why?

[He doesn't actually expect an answer, it was more a cut reaction to ask. After everything he's heard about this hotel it doesn't seem like a place people should be sending their children too.]

[He shrugs a little at that.] I don't know. Maybe she knew we'd be safer if we eventually ended up here? We didn't want to go back then, at least.
