Action
[There's the sound of a guitar coming from the amphitheater early in the morning. It's nothing special, just a few simple chords to warm-up being done over and over again with the occasional pause.
For those that plan to investigate they'll find Enjolras sitting in one of the first rows playing. By his side is a notebook, the page covered in words that have been furiously crossed out and a letter beneath it.
He's not exactly in the mood for company or to talk, but he won't turn anyone away if they want so feel free to come bother him.]

When she sees that it's Enjolras, she moves a little faster, a little quieter to come take a seat next to him, just enjoying listening to him play.
Then, after a few minutes, she speaks.] I've been clean for four months.
no subject
It's only when she speaks that he pauses, turning his head to give her his full attention and...
Well. That wasn't what he expected her to say. Enjolras was sure she would never acknowledge that given she didn't choose to be sober. Still, the statement makes him nod.]
Would you smack me or roll your eyes if I tell you that - regardless of how it happen - I am proud of you for that?
no subject
Hands jammed in her pockets, Eponine shrugs, not looking at him.] But, uhm. Thanks. It just... it fucking sucks. I miss it, y'know? I miss it so fucking much. And it's not like I can even jump off the wagon given that I'm cursed.
But, I don't know.
I thought I should let you know. [Since Charlie was back in New Jersey, and she knew how important Enjolras was to that kid.]
no subject
[He sets the guitar on his other side, listening to her words.]
I'm not sure it would help, but why not find something else to focus that need into? I know some people turn to art to fill a void. [Aka, healthy hobbies).]
Thank you for telling me.
cw: talk of suicide
Yeah, let me take up knitting or something.
You're welcome...? I don't know, Enjolras. This whole thing is just... it's taking everything out of me. I'm hardly sleeping, barely eating. I don't even really want to fuck Dave. [And she still wanted to kill herself.]
Re: cw: talk of suicide
[He doesn't talk about his mom often, and very quickly continues.]
You know, this might be hard to believe since teenagers seemed obsessed with sex... But that isn't actually needed in a relationship. [He does take her first comments into consideration.] Perhaps someone in the Hypnos cabin can help with sleeping.
no subject
That's what Dave says. But that's all relationships have ever been to me, Enjolras. I lost my virginity when I was 12. [She says it like it's no big deal, and that in and of itself is a problem. Twelve-years-old.] I don't know what I'm doing without that. I don't know how people do it.
No. I can't ask them for help. Half of camp hates me, remember.

You're awake early, Enjolras.

[He strums one last chord before setting the guitar aside. Turning to face Dany he offers her a crooked smile.
Insomnia isn't something foreign to him, there have been days where he's barely gotten an hour or two of sleep - and that one week where he didn't sleep at all for three days.]
Is it time for breakfast?
no subject
[It's a joke, of course. She's damn sure Enjolras is just as stubborn as she and wouldn't, and she's pretty sure there aren't many demigods there, in any case.]
Not quite, but it's getting there.

[Right under "don't piss off Hera".]
What are you doing so up then? Not taking part in the Roman training are you?
no subject
[And besides - what she really needs to work on is controlling her own flame.]
I was out at the lake, sitting to think.
no subject
Something on your mind?
[Because he'd rather focus on something else then his own problems.]
(no subject)
Someone needs to tell him he's actually in an acapella group.
IT'S OK ENJOLRAS YOU'RE ACA-AWESOME

[Mary is having a bit of a walkabout this morning. It's no secret she enjoys music, as both a listener and a musician. But some elements of it are beyond her talent.]
Are you composing something?
[She starts to step closer, then pauses.] I'm sorry. I should have asked if I was disturbing you. Am I?
no subject
You're alright.
[She'd just startled him.]
And, no, to answer your first question. Their just just warm ups.
no subject
[She gestures to nearby empty seating.] May I? Even if it's just warm ups.
How often do the children of Apollo play together?
no subject
[Really, more then they know what to do with. He gives a shrug.]
If you'd like.
We don't very often, but there's only three of us around, really.
no subject
[She takes a seat, since he didn't exactly say no, her hands resting in her lap.]
I'd actually like other people to play and sing with. Not for anything formal, just for fun. I would have liked to ask if your cabin welcomed others to join them if it was something you all did more regularly.
[She does look a tad disappointed, but notes,] I'm quite inclined to take you up on your offer, though. About the guitar.
no subject
Ignore the fact that Enjolras - as the Apollo counselor - is technically suppose to be running those. He misses Maya. She was much more intune with the music side of their heritage.]
I'm sure if you ever sat down somewhere and started playing people would join you.

Hey. Mind if I sit?
[Normally she'd banter or pry, but something seems off, so she contents herself to just sitting next to him, swinging her legs and listening to the chords.]
no subject
You'll take the seat regardless.
[He means that in a teasing manner, but his tone might not make that very apparent.
He continues playing, glancing at her.]
You're up early.
no subject
[Does that count as a pun on her nickname? Oh well. She scoots a little closer, leaning over to peer at his notebook.]
What are you working on?
no subject
[He stops playing, slapping his hand over his notebook and giving her an irritated look.]
Nothing.
[If she managed to get a good glance she'll see it's all in French.]
no subject
[She looks cross, but keeps trying to peer.]
You can't just sit here and sulk without telling me.
[She ponders for a second, trying to switch languages.]
Would speaking in French help you?
no subject
[It was a small joke. It does help, a bit. Speaking in French always helped.]
I take offense to that. I am not sulking.

Cosette, savor this rare moment.
Her whole life has been leading to this.
He appreciates her hugging without question
Like she'd ever miss the opportunity.
