Shot 01 -- IM/Action

[Bucky shoots the rainbow a charming grin. The effect is ruined a bit by the healing black eye and the cut on his cheek but hey, it works. (Someone had a run in with the shabti guards. Not fun. He doesn’t recommend it.)]

So I’m guessin’ the giant stone things are a new thing? No one ever mentioned ‘em before, just guards and a dragon.

[Also he’s pretty sure they look kinda like those Pharaoh guys he saw in the museum once but he’s not sure]

Just sayin’, that’s something you’d want to mention to a fella before he gets here. Bucky Barnes, at your service.

[He gives a sort of cocky, lazy salute, still grinning. The grin continues as he asks his next question, but he’s clearly a bit worried]

Anyone here seen a scrawny sixteen-year-old, by the way? Shorter’n me, weighs about a hundred pounds soaking wet, probably doin’ something stupid or drawing? He looks like he’s going to kick it if you look at him wrong. His name is Steve—if anyone knows where I can find him or knows where he is, tell him Bucky got outta that damn hotel and is looking for him.

I just don't trust horses, wings or not. I didn't grow up in Vermont, I'm a Brooklyn kid.

My sister was big on the equestrian thing, before she got hyper dedicated with soccer. I spent that time listing to music.

I still need to see more of the US, I've only ever been in Manhattan... and that one trip to Florida where we didn't get to see much, it wasn't a sightseeing trip.

Not sure if it'd still work, but train-hoppin's a pretty good way to see stuff. Or was, anyway.

We're not allowed out of camp at all right now.

And when they let us back out, we have to take a Satyr with us.

So the whole exploring the country thing is kinda off the table for the moment.

[He shrugs]

When you get a chance, then, though like I said I don't know if it'll be the same as when Steve an' I did it. Why can't we leave?

The pest problem I mentioned? Well, someone called in some monster hunters. Anyway, because of all of that we're all on lockdown. Supposedly we'll get off lockdown eventually.

*She's not sure she buys that.*

I've kinda wanted to see how far I could get busking if I'm not going to get to be a normal high schooler. See the country, run into different music styles, meet interesting people. That sorta stuff... probably won't get me into any philharmonic, but it'd be a nice way to spend a summer.

Sounds like a good reason to be on lockdown, though, gotta admit.

[He'd like to not be shot by enemies, yeah? Sure, he missed most of the War but he remembers the gossip.]

Hey, it sounds better than hoboin' it from Brooklyn to Vegas.

Yes, after we beat back the werewolves and the werewolf hunters it definitely helps to lock down the camp to keep them out. if only we locked it all down beforehand.

*This is a barn door after the horse escaped thing.*

...Why did you go to Vegas? Wait how did you get to Vegas? That's not a cheap trip without some money or help.

Steve's ma told him an' me to go, so we went.

[He shrugs]

We train-hopped. It was easier then.

*That'd be totally unbelievable if, you know, 90% of the camp was totally unbelievable.*

So, is this an eat right and exercise thing, a curse, or something else?

Somethin' else. Ever hear of the Lotus Hotel?

No... but my sister didn't talk much about her spring break in Vegas.

I'm assuming it's more than a hotel, and probably dangerous.

You go in, who knows when you'll get out.

And... Athena sent you two there?

Guess she's got some sorta plan, I mean if Dad sent you it's because you had to be there. No question why you ended up there.

I ended up there because like hell I was lettin' Steve go alone. Even Athena noticed that.

He is a bit on the tiny side, isn't he?

You're a good friend for that, even if maybe you should have checked the fine print on going in that hotel?

Kid barely weights a hundred pounds, though he's stubborn as hell.

[He gives Maya a look at that last comment]

You mean t'tell me you'd argue with Athena and Apollo?

Argue? No, ask questions about what I'm getting into... yes.

They probably won't tell me, dad probably can't tell me, but it's a lot better than just rushing in without trying?

They said it'd help Steve. That's all I cared about.
