[IRIS MESSAGE: Saturday, May 25th]
[Naomi's standing in front of her weed-covered cabin desperately hoping she sent out an Irish Message properly. Fiddling with the hem of her orange camp shirt she looks over her shoulder at the cabin before looking into the rainbow. She's doing her best to stay strong, but it's clear she's frazzled with tears just waiting to fall. Anna's gone on a quest (which admittedly sounds like an awful lot of fun), and none of the other Demeter kids have arrived, so it's up to Naomi to fix this mess.]
U-Um. I donno what happened but my cabins covered in weeds a-and I know that's not something that's s'pose to happen...
[She bites her lip.]
I know everybody's got their own problems going on but... Um, help? I-I'll pay you back! Promise!

I'll help you over there. I've found that gardening is quite a good stress-relieving activity.

[She hadn't anticipated anyone to answer to her message - especially one so quickly. Taking a deep breath she rubs at her eyes, her hand dropping to clutch at her brothers necklace.]
Th-Thank you!!
no subject
This is no trouble at all, miss. The camp is at peace, despite these small setbacks, and...and I do not believe you have anything to fear.
[He offers her a hand, his cheeks tinging red.]
You may call me Jean, mademoiselle. Jehan, even, i-if you'd like! Whichever you prefer is fine.
no subject
But then her eyes light up, and she feels a bit at ease.]
Je m'appelle Naomi! Encha... En... It's nice to meet'cha Jean... Jehan? What's the difference?
[There's a safe chance that she mispronounced the words. She laughs, nervous all over again.]
My big brother takes French, he's always teaching me some things because it's part of our heritage... Or something...
no subject
[Prouvaire takes her hand in his own, shaking it lightly, and then wastes no time in getting to work, beginning to coax the weeds out of the cabin's side.]
Jehan is simply a more medieval way to pronounce and write it. I-I prefer it amongst friends, and I do apologize if it's difficult to understand...
no subject
[She smiles a little, following him. Her attempt to coax has been more of a yanking the weeds. Naomi never really thought of herself as having a green thumb.]
It's sorta like how my brother and friends like to call me Nao.
[Okay, not really. Nao was an actual nickname and not a medieval pronunciation but she was trying to make sense of it.]
no subject
Nao. It's lovely. May I call you that? Only if you don't mind, of course...
[He concentrates his gaze down at the weeds he's pulling up, careful not to look Naomi in the eye.]

Take a deep breath, okay? Everything's going to be just fine. Just a little overgrowth problem. [She offers up a comforting smile.] I'll come by and help you out, okay?
no subject
She listens to her though, taking a deep breath even if it's a bit on the shaky side.]
Pl-Please? Um if you aren't busy...
no subject
It's a few minutes later that she arrives outside of the Demeter Cabin, nodding her head in greeting.] Hey.
no subject
[Naomi is fiddling with the hem of her camp shirt - which she's quickly learning is becoming a nervous tick. But she really can't help it, she's seen Jill around and sort of thinks she's really cool.]
Um, thanks for coming to help...
no subject
There's a short pause as she surveys the area before glancing back at the girl.] You're new here, right?
no subject
Um, I'm Naomi.
[She turns her attention back to the weeds, tugging at one.]

Mom's better at plants and stuff, but give me a few minutes and I'll try to come help.
[Maybe his black thumb can kill the weeds?]
no subject
[She tilts her head, not knowing exactly who it is that she's speaking too. When he offers to help she nods, smiling a little bit.]
Okay! I'll be outside the cabin, um thank you!
[She's really going to have to think of a way to repay everyone who has come to help her.]

So, you can't make these things go away?

I think it's my fault 'cuz I didn't do anything for Athena... Did she do something to your cabin?

With limited success.]
Sure, I'm in.
no subject
Except she is, because there are two people that Naomi has dubbed "really, really cool" at this camp. Dave was the second one.]
Re-Really?
no subject
Beats sittin' out here doin' sweet shit all with my day. I'll bring some hedge clippers or somethin', just don't start crying.
no subject
Naomi wrinkles her nose at his cursing, remembering all the times Mom had threatened to wash her or her brothers mouths out with soap. She even carried out on the threat once when Kou had said the f-word.
Rubbing her eyes she nods, giving Dave a bit of a timid smile.]
'm not gonna cry...
[Okay she was going to try not too cry.]
Hedge clippers might help if you have any! I'll be outside my cabin.
no subject
When he comes jogging up to her, he has a pair of hedge trimmers dangling carelessly from one hand, don't ask where he got them, and he falters to a stop, looking up at the cabin with both eyebrows raised high.]
... Damn. It looks like the Eden Project went Jumanji and threw up on this thing. Who did you annoy?
no subject
Be careful! You're not s'pose to run with scissors!
[It's a rule that has been drilled into Naomi's head. When Dave speaks though she looks up at the cabin, biting her lip. Her voice may be a bit wobbly, and there's still the threat of tears.]
I think Athena... I didn't know I was s'pose to do something for her...
