[So after this quickly escalated on the 16th of February, Nico has decided that he's in a better frame of mind, and heart, to at least apologize to the camp. He is not going to apologize to Percy, and honestly still doesn't want to see him. The son of Hades is currently in the forest, looking a little uncomfortable.]

Ah...so, about last Sunday...I'm pretty sure that you guys may have noticed a small earthquake happened.

[Why does apologizing have to be so hard?]

That was my and Percy's fault. We had a little...disagreement.

["Disagreement" he says. His eyes betray that he means "heated argument."]

For those who don't know or might not realize this, this kind of thing happens when two children of the Big Three have strong disagreements between each other. You get a natural disaster, and luckily this one was small enough to not cause any damage that I'm aware of. Before you guys even think about it, don't try to get all three sets of children into an argument.

[Nico sighs.]

Anyway...since half of it was my fault, I wanted to...apologize for the incident. And for any fear or damage caused by it.

[He can't promise that it won't happen again, since that's an impossible promise to keep, but...well.]

[The urge to curl into a ball is strong, but Nico resists it. He does bring his knees to his chest to grip tightly. He's sure that Bay's only saying these things to make him feel better and not because she's actually okay with this. His voice gets quieter, telling her something he's only ever told Derek.]

When I first met him, he saved me and my sister. I was eleven, and it was like...my favorite game right in front of me. Alive and real, and a hero in the form of Percy Jackson. I was...impressionable back then. When he came back to tell me that my sister had died, after making him promise to keep her safe, Percy got attacked by some undead. For the first time, I used my powers as a Hades child to banish them, and then I fled camp. I was...confused. And scared about my powers and my feelings because I just...couldn't really hate him.

*Bay watches him and listens. He's been in this world a lot longer than she has, so he's never seen a normal school and how things are changing.*

So he was basically a fairy tale hero, even if he's an idiot? Makes sense.

Things people don't tell you? First loves usually don't work out. But who you are is fine, just... no more earthquakes?

He's the biggest idiot I've ever met. I can't guarantee no more earthquakes, but I can try.

[Nico glances at her, now. Wary. Confused. Not sure if he's daring to hope.]

You're...seriously okay with...ah, all this?

Back at home, I have a friend named Natalie. Still haven't met her girlfriend. The whole... God thing, kinda screwed up my plans. It doesn't really matter to me. Some people still care, but most people... it's not a detail that's important.

*She sighed. Her parents would send the wrong message, but she and Toby were both pretty okay with things. Not that Kansas City was a bastion of political correctness.*

So yes, I'm okay with it. Most people should be, if they aren't I'm sure Derek, Hazel, or I can change their mind.

[Apparently, mentioning Hazel is the wrong thing to do, because all of a sudden he feels a wave of sickness and depression crash over his head. The grass he's sitting on instantly withers and dies in response, but Nico manages to keep it contained to just a centimeter away from his body. The color just drains from his face.]

I don't...know...about Hazel.

What did she do?

*Bay does notice that he's now just kinda deathtouching the grass around him. She does look a bit angry on his behalf, which says something.*

I mean, I haven't properly spoken to her, but if she doesn't get that you're normal, then I will have to have some words with her.

[Nico feels like scum, but...well. Since Hel is Bay, it's only a matter of time before she figures it out all on her own.]

Hazel's from the same time period I am. But. From New Orleans, Louisiana.

[He rests his head against the tree.]

*Probably best to just open that up, as once Hel got stronger she might start to notice things.*

Have you caught her up on the fact that interracial marriage is okay now? And that it's kinda the same thing, just one step removed... and with different reasons why people thought it was wrong, but the same arguments every time.

I...don't know. She might have figured that one out on her own, but...she doesn't know this time period like I do. She wasn't trapped in the Lotus Hotel. I...I brought her back from the Fields of Asphodel.

[Maybe he should feel shame, but he doesn't. Hazel deserves a second chance, whether it's with him as her brother or not.]

*Bay winced.*

Hel does not like that idea, at all. But she doesn't get a vote right now, so...

I don't know. I'd say let one of the Love Children explain the way of things now, they should be the most understanding. But that would involve telling one of them which I doubt you want either. Maybe... let... no, I don't think Derek or I could really explain it.

Especially when I'm not really in the right mood for love.

[The offer of letting Bay or Derek talk to Hazel about it is touching, and he allows himself a spark of hope. She's giving him honest suggestions on what can help, so...maybe it'll be okay. Nico relaxes slightly, and doesn't hesitate to look at her now.]

I think...I'll let her decide who to go to. However way it goes, please don't hold it against her.

[Nico rubs his face.]

Having troubles of your own, Bay?

She'll figure it out, might just take her a while. Gods know my family isn't the best at change, I'm host to a God and they thought going to church might 'fix' this.

*Bay made no promises in there, at all. And now it was her turn to look away.*

My last two serious boyfriends cheated on me, so I'm taking it easy and not getting into serious relationships. I'm also having sex with Dean Winchester... but you really don't need to worry about any of that.

[Nico snorts at the church thing. He's heard that one before.

He appreciates Bay's bluntness, but...but.]

You're doing what with--?

[He's not sure he wants to know or to finish that question]

*Bay is still making eye contact with a tree root three feet away from them. And she'd be blushing if she really did that, but mostly she just looks uncomfortable.*

I just want something simple to distract from all the near-certain death and world ending war going on around us. It's just... easy.

And I won't get hurt, and I don't need to deal with a relationship while I figure out how to become a real Death God.

Cause if I'm in a serious relationship, I'd need them to know what I'm going to become...

*Hel, that guise she only took up while she was in the cabin. The face that she's only shown to Nico.*

[Nico is quiet and he can certainly understand all of that. He hesitates, and then tentatively pulls her into a one-armed hug.]

It's okay if you don't find someone. You'll still have people who love you just for being you.

I could say the same to you, just... putting that out there.

*She smiles at the fact he did the almost hug without asking first. He's learning!*
