[So after this quickly escalated on the 16th of February, Nico has decided that he's in a better frame of mind, and heart, to at least apologize to the camp. He is not going to apologize to Percy, and honestly still doesn't want to see him. The son of Hades is currently in the forest, looking a little uncomfortable.]

Ah...so, about last Sunday...I'm pretty sure that you guys may have noticed a small earthquake happened.

[Why does apologizing have to be so hard?]

That was my and Percy's fault. We had a little...disagreement.

["Disagreement" he says. His eyes betray that he means "heated argument."]

For those who don't know or might not realize this, this kind of thing happens when two children of the Big Three have strong disagreements between each other. You get a natural disaster, and luckily this one was small enough to not cause any damage that I'm aware of. Before you guys even think about it, don't try to get all three sets of children into an argument.

[Nico sighs.]

Anyway...since half of it was my fault, I wanted to...apologize for the incident. And for any fear or damage caused by it.

[He can't promise that it won't happen again, since that's an impossible promise to keep, but...well.]

We did, but we never said anything about me versus either of them. At least the argument didn't last long enough for the earthquake to get worse.

I thought I could keep better control of myself. It hadn't happened before.

[Nico rubs his face.]

You could probably guess this by looking at him, but Percy is one of those types who will fling himself in front of you to take a bullet in your place. He happens to hate the same being done for him. Strong disagreement happened.

*She's pretty sure he's leaving things out, but not like she tells him everything either.*

I know I'm like that, no idea why the hero of the Greeks would take that position about themselves. But he's bulletproof, so maybe he has a point?

[Nico scowls a little, though it's definitely not directed at her.]

Doesn't mean that if someone wants to take a knife for him, whether he wants it to happen or not, they're going to do it. As for why...my guess is that he cares too much about people. Whether he really knows them or not.

Probably carries the world on his shoulders too, every death he doesn't prevent is his fault. Everyone he doesn't save he killed himself. Think like that, the people who die for you are twice your fault.

Makes for a good warrior, but a terrible leader.

[Nico nods.]

That's why Annabeth is the real leader. People will follow Percy to the ends of the earth, but Annabeth is the one people will go to when there's a plan to be made. Or a sacrifice.

What he probably needs to be reminded of, is that his death would probably break the spirits of the Greeks and kill any shot of them surviving this war.

He's got that impact on people. You know, for a Greek.

Yeah, I told him that, but I don't think he believes me. [He pauses.] Though that might have been because at the time we were yelling about it.

Yeah, nobody listens to me when I'm yelling.

Also, people never see their own worth the way those around them do. They take themselves for granted.

[He's quiet, thinking about what Hazel had told him when she first arrived.]

I think you're right about that. I certainly don't see it for myself, but...I know some do.

[He looks a little uncomfortable with that. Maybe they don't, but Nico isn't sure that one of them will want to be related to him.]

*Because Callie is fairly sure, compared to Dave, Hazel and Derek are not bullheadedly arrogant enough to be so sure of Nico's motivations.*
