Sorry it took so long to get back here, guys - some, uh, things came up that I couldn't control.

[One would never know that Peeta spent the better part of the summer in the hospital or got attacked over Thanksgiving by the slightly sheepish grin he gives the rainbow - he'd had a few chats with Jehan and Finnick while he was away so he's been kept generally up to date on what's happened, but he isn't about to go spilling his own story so soon after arrival. It's not that important in the grand scheme of things.]

Looks like things are getting kind of crazy around here, with all the different pantheons showing up now, but, it's Christmastime, so we should be able to relax and focus on good things for awhile. Things were getting kind of hectic at the bakery, but I did bring a huge tub of gingerbread, chocolate mint cookies, and hamentashen if anyone wants to drop by Cabin 4 for some later. [He gives an eyeroll here.] Don't worry Finnick, I brought your croissants, too; you don't have to go hounding me about that. Even though you're probably going to.

So yeah, it's good to be back, and welcome to all of the new guys I haven't met yet - and, uh, when you get a chance, let me know if you've got any food allergies. I need to update my list since we've got so many new people.

[So he doesn't accidentally kill anyone. With a smile and a brief wave, Peeta breaks the connection. If anyone wants to find him, he'll be unpacking in Cabin 4, with stacks of baked goods to hand out to anyone who drops by.]

[If that isn't just the most obvious sideways dodging of a question ever. But Peeta has to chuckle a little at it; okay, so she doesn't want to answer the question. Fair enough.]

Yeah, it looks good. And I can see why you sea kids would want to think about that. Cookie, pastry, anything? I've got more than I need.

[She knows it's obvious, but it's amusing anyway.]

I'm a big fan of mint chocolate cookies.

[He can take the hint. He's pretty good at that.]

I've got plenty of those.

[He obviously expected those to be the most popular cookie-choice, because the box those are in is the largest one in his stack. He removes the lid and holds it out to let her select what she wants from the pile inside.]

[Aqua will take one piece and has a bite. After swallowing, she can't help a grin.]

If your cooking is just as excellent, then I think we all might be in danger of gaining a few more pounds. I might have to push my cohort a little harder because of it.

I don't do a whole lot of regular cooking here. They're a lot more concerned with us learning how to defend ourselves and everything, and they've got harpies to do most of that.

[The harpies' duties mostly fall under what a lot of people would consider "chores," like cleaning up after training and in the public areas and making food. They're way too aware of Peeta to let him spend all his time in the kitchens, because he's tried that in the past.]

Go ahead, take a few more. And I've got other stuff here, too.

They're both important skills for demigods to have, in my opinion.
