[There’s a new face in the rainbow on the morning of December 8th- one that could probably actually really use a shower. Six months on the road has kind of made Rhys forget what being clean feels like. Or looks like. Anyway, cleaning up hasn’t occurred to him yet.]

I suppose when it comes down to it, talking over the rainbow isn’t that much stranger than travelling on the rainbow. You can get used to anything.

[He half-smiles, looking around like he’s still getting used to his surroundings, then re-focuses on the rainbow in front of him.]

Anyway, I’m Rhys Owens, your latest happy camper. I’ve just got one request- if you see a couple of ravens flapping around and trying to get up in your business, please don’t damage them. They’ll be kind of difficult to replace. I’ve told them to be polite, so if you shoo them off they’ll probably listen, but no promises. They make up their own minds, mostly.

I'm not entirely caught up with events here, and I'd rather ask than send the birds snooping- what's Camp Jupiter?

[He likes to know things and he doesn't think everyone in camp would feel comfortable with the ravens eavesdropping on all their conversations, so he figures asking directly is the next best thing.]

Why's it built that way? Aren't the cabins intended to be slept in?

It was where the Roman Demigods lived and trained. It was located near New Rome, a city the legion built for their families to live in peace. We were on the west coast...to apparently keep us as far away from the Greeks as possible.

[Jason uses past tense and keeps a neutral tone, though there is a big hint of sadness and longing there.]

Anyway, I imagine you'd have to ask one of the Greek campers that. It could have something to do with the fact that on the Greek side, Zeus made a promise not to have any more children. I imagine it might have been more cabin-like at some point. Or maybe not, I honestly don't know how long these cabins have been the way they are.
