Okay, a bunch of you people are seeing ghosts and things out in the woods. I'm assuming none of Death's kids are behind this, but it sounds to me like this isn't normal around this not so normal camp of yours. So I've got a question for you guys.

[ Rarely does Dean actually look serious, but he does. After having been bored for so long, he's glad to have something productive to do with his time, and he is taking this as his personal mission. ]

Where were all of you when you saw these ghosts?

[ He'll be heading right out there as soon as they're done here, guns in hand. ]

Not what I meant. [ He gives Eponine a look of mild irritation before turning to Percy. ]

And thanks, I knew all that already. I've hunted ghosts before, just like anything else. What would the god of the Underworld want with a bunch of kids at a summer camp, anyway?

[ Not that this is a normal summer camp - or even a summer camp, anymore. But there's more important things to talk about here. Dean gives Percy a curious look, and after a moment, he asks: ] What was that about a god of cheeseburgers?

[ Now that is a god he could get behind. ]

Whatever, close enough. [She waves the thought away with a flick of her hand.]

Well, the god of the Underworld has kids here, for starters. And he's freaking Hades, I'm sure you've seen Hercules. He likes to fuck around. I've never met the guy, ask Jackson here. [She gestures at him.] But I don't know if this was his shtick. What happened... I don't know. It seems... petty for him.

Why would he send Jake O'Connell back here to fuck with me? [Because Hermes kids have a really great track record lately of deflecting to the bad guys, Eponine. Obviously.]

[She looked at the breast plate, then back down at her own chest, and, because she could, placed her hands on her breasts.] I'll take my chances.

[Percy thinks so, too. Good to see there's another person around with their priorities firmly in the right place.]

Okay if there is one I haven't met him yet, but there's gods for everything else, so there should be one for cheeseburgers, right?

As for Hades... [He's got to trail off here for a moment, because yeah, in some ways it doesn't make sense.] I don't know, really. He was really pissed for a couple thousand years about being ignored by the rest of the gods and just left down in the Underworld. Hell, he was so bitter about it he wanted to just stay down there last year and let the gods and us and the Titans all bash ourselves to pieces so he could come out on top and rule everything when everyone was dead. But Nico talked him into coming and helping, and he was given a seat on Olympus and a cabin and everything, so... Maybe he's just still bitter about that? The guy doesn't forgive easily, and he never forgets. He may just be using this to get back at our parents some more; the gods aren't allowed to mess around with each other, but they can go after their kids or the things they protect.

[And he'll just... reach up and rub one of his eyes at Ep. Sure he's seventeen and all, but that was pretty blatant and he's more of a fan of Annabeth's the subtle kind of sexy.] Okay, whatever. If something chomps on you, you can't blame me. Ready?

[ If there is a god of cheeseburgers, they can consider Dean converted. ]

Sounds like a stand up guy.

[ He gives Eponine an appreciative glance and turns to the woods, twirling the gun in his hands while he heads out. ]

Been ready. C'mon, kids, let's go catch us some ghosts.

[ospreyed]

Wouldn't dream of it, Jackson. [Eponine gives him a small wink before falling in with Dean. Without her armor, her step is light, even if she's wearing her usual combat boots.

I think you mean bust some ghosts.

Sad thing is, Hades isn't even close to the worst they've got in the immortal world. At least he's pretty predictable. [But that's another story. Another several stories. And he's kind of hoping this is Hades because then they can just thrash him and be done with it, but he is doubting that's the case.]

You've gotta be better at tracking stuff than me, so lead on. [At sea he's golden. On land he's awful. Percy shoulders Riptide, letting the blade sit on the strap of his armor, and follows Dean.]
