You know, I’d almost forgotten how much I dislike the East Coast.

[The feed opens up on a fairly “punk” looking teenaged boy with a light (way lighter than Sadie’s) English accent. He looks about as bored as you can look without being a slab of redwood. He has several Egyptian charms on his wrists.]

San Francisco may have its fog and weird weather patterns, but at least it isn’t so…crowded. It smells better, too.

[Well, at least it smells better than Brooklyn. The camp, actually, is pretty nice. Not that he’s going to admit it, however]

Moving on. My name is Tybalt, I’m on the Path of Bast, and if anyone needs me, check a roof. Please, don’t need me.

I was just sayin' you should be careful. It wouldn't be fun to fall off the roof by accident!

I've jumped from higher roofs than this and landed perfectly fine. Thank you for your concern, but I assure you it isn't needed.

[If he was planning to get rid of her, that wasn't the best thing to say. Now Naomi's curious.]

'nd you didn't get hurt? How come?

Because one, my reflexes are more cat than man, two, if you do something enough times you become good at it and three, I'm simply that good.

So are you like... A cat-boy?

[Because if your reflexes are like a cat...

... Naomi's logic is strange, but it makes sense in her mind.]

[And now it's hard to tell if Naomi's being serious or not. There is a little giggle in her voice.]

[He looks at her before shifting into a cat. It takes a moment, but he shifts right back]

Ta-da.

[Oh...

Oh well then. Naomi didn't expect that. Her mouth hangs open.

Then she lights up, talking a million miles a minute.]

Wa-wait how'd you do that? You can really become a cat? So d'you always land on your feet? How'd you learn to do that? Oh, oh! Is it an Egyptian thing? Does this mean other cats I've seen could be magicians?

Magic, yes, most of the time, it comes with the Path, yes it's an Egyptian thing, and not likely.

That's so cool!

Does that mean Millie or Sadie could turn into animals? Or is it just for... Bath right?

I don't know if Millie can, but Sadie can turn into a kite. She doesn't, however. She's not particularly good at it. And it's Bast.

A kite? Y'mean like the things you fly?

[Naomi pauses to imagine that, then makes a face.]
