i.m. (to action) ☁ sept. 13
Hey, camp.
[ Not that she holds any superstitions relating to the day itself, but the Hecate counselor can't help a grin from where she sits on the steps of her cabin after breakfast. Is that ... thunder and lightning in her Iris Message or are your eyes deceiving you? ]
Since Friday the Thirteenth is upon us --
[ There's a witchy cackle in the background and she stifles a snicker. ]
-- Sorry, couldn't help it. Anyway.
[ With a wave of her hand, the thundering stops, though it still looks like she's somehow wandered onto the set of Sleepy Hollow. ]
We don't have any experts on dream interpretation, would we? No, it's, uh nothing serious. Now that I'm getting sleep - not that you care - it's been weird.
But enough about me. [ An unusually impish smile forms on her lips. ] I just wanted to warn you all to beware the black cats in camp, that's all. [ It isn't often that Natalie pulls pranks, but when she does, she goes all out. Besides, something funny should help lighten the mood. Even she will play a part in lifting some spirits and since Hebe was so kind to have dropped a bunch of animals on the place...
Letting a black cat cross your path will either a) put a full rain cloud over your head b) leave you a little ... tongue tied (did you mean to ask questions in another language?) c) give you actual butter fingers. The effects don't last any longer than a couple of hours. ]
Sorry in advance. I'm just practicing.
[ In a clap of thunder, the feed ends. ]

[ Shrug. He has a propensity for odd names. Take Festus - "Happy" the dragon. ]
What're you waiting for?! She's the most lifelike automaton I've ever seen - if you didn't know she was a machine, there would be no way to tell at all. Whoever made her was pure genius. I bet she'd like you, too - she likes pretty much everything so far. Wonder what she'd think of the magic thing, though... She'll definitely have a lot of questions about it.
[ His voice trails off as he starts thinking. Magic is a lot different from mechanics... Sky is smart, but would her creator - or Hephaestus - have given her any knowledge about that? Doesn't seem likely. ]

[ She listens to him with an amused quirk of her lip, arms folded over her chest. ]
Magic and machinery can be combined in various ways, so I've heard. Sounds cool. I'm sure you've got tons of questions for her, too. I'll find her soon.
[ The trick would be to actually explain how all her magic works. ]

Studying, then. I don't know how you do it; I would've gone insane a long time ago.
[ That's debatable. Some say he already is, and Leo accepts that proudly. Being nuts is part of his charm. ]
Maybe she's got some in her. You wouldn't believe how real she is. Sometimes it's hard to remember she's not actually human.

On the other hand, Leo's type of nuts is appealing to her. ]
I wouldn't be surprised if she had some magic in her either, going from what you've already said. How long until you'll be able to replicate the machinery?

A while. I don't have the technical skill to make someone like her.
[ Yes, someone, not something. Automatons have feelings, too. But honestly, the work that went into Sky was amazing - he can't even imagine what her skin and hair are made out of, let alone the inner mechanics. ]

[ A short laugh. ]
After my spells wears off, anyway.

[ Maybe. Probably not. ]
