[When the feed starts, Jehan is clearly not in his cabin. He's down by the shore.

And he's been crying. His voice is hoarse and when he speaks, his accent is a bit thicker than usual]

If...if anyone else knew Zane, son of Venus, he...

[He wants to say "died". Died would be so much easier than the truth]

He was a...he was an agent of the Red Room. This entire time. He...he was here to spy on us.

[And he cuts the IM. As he does, you can see him break down yet again. It's going to be a long time before he recovers from this heartbreak]

They're true! I vaguely remember your brother--he's not very good looking in my opinion.

[She turns to him, looking a bit cross.]

Viserys is a fine looking young man.

[He may not be a fine brother, but he did inherit the Targaryen white-gold hair and purple eyes. That is stunning enough.]

Not my taste, that's all. If he looked more like you, maybe.

[wokethedragon]

[Jehan, now you are just confusing Daenerys.]

...dear ser, what are you suggesting?

[shylyintrepid]

You're pretty, Dany. I mean, you don't do much for me since, you know, gay, but I can appreciate a pretty human being, can't I? If your brother looked more like you, I'd probably like him more. Physically, anyway.

[wokethedragon]

[She pauses for a moment, then actually starts laughing, relieved.]

Jehan, you had me quite startled for a moment.

[It's not an emotion that the daughter of Hephaestus often experiences - very few things catch her off her guard. She doesn't let them.

And it's good, too. Jehan is a dear friend of hers - she would have hated to have to turn him down much in the same way Enjolras had.]

What do you--oh, gods!

[He turns a furious red and even stops brushing her hair to cover his face]

No. Gods, no Dany. Maybe if I were interested in girls but no, I don't like you like that!

[wokethedragon]

[It's not often that Dany laughs so candidly, so earnestly. She's needed this.]

Now you must understand how I was feeling only a moment before!

Oh gods.

[He starts laughing though. This is hilarious]

[wokethedragon]

[She covers her face with her hands for a moment, and then finally calms down, taking Jehan's hands in her own.]

I promise you that if I were to ever inexplicably become infatuated with you, dear Jehan, you would be the first to know.

[She's still joking, shaking her head. Gods, she needed this.]

And should the same happen to me, I would tell you. And then call Courfeyrac and beg him to talk to his mother because I have never once found girls appealing like that.

The lady Aphrodite takes great pleasure in toying with our emotions.

[She turns again so Jehan would be able to braid her hair again.]

But I believe Courfeyrac would have a much easier time of convincing her to right what has happened to us than you or I.

Sexuality is biological, I feel. So that's not emotions.

[Now Dany goes scarlet.]

I was speaking about romance, Jehan.

[shylyintrepid]

...so, nice to know that several years later I still have the language issue.

[Facepalm]

[She places a hand on his shoulder.]

I suppose I will figure all of that out when I am older.

What, romance or sexuality?

[wokethedragon]

...well, both, I suppose. It simply isn't my time.

[shylyintrepid]

[He smiles as he finishes her hair]

Sexuality is fluid and all that.

[wokethedragon]

[She furrows her eyebrows. Daenerys is young, and does not know much about the ways of love.]

I don't believe there's a binary when it comes to sexuality. Some people like strictly one or the other, but there's nothing wrong if people like a little of both, or mostly one but occasionally the other.

[wokethedragon]

[She's quiet for a moment, not really sure if she wants to know the answer to her question.]

Do you suppose...Enjolras might not return my affections because he prefers the company of other boys?

[shylyintrepid]

...it's possible, but I don't think that's the case with Enjolras. I don't think he knows what affection and romance is, when it comes to relationships involving him.

...do you, though? Do you understand the ways of romance? Jehan, you're a poet. You simply must be able to.
