[When the feed starts, Jehan is clearly not in his cabin. He's down by the shore.

And he's been crying. His voice is hoarse and when he speaks, his accent is a bit thicker than usual]

If...if anyone else knew Zane, son of Venus, he...

[He wants to say "died". Died would be so much easier than the truth]

He was a...he was an agent of the Red Room. This entire time. He...he was here to spy on us.

[And he cuts the IM. As he does, you can see him break down yet again. It's going to be a long time before he recovers from this heartbreak]

I like Beauty and the Beast a bit more than Mulan, but Shang? Shang was fanservice before we needed fanservice. [Thoughtfully:] He may have been my first movie crush. Him or Dmitri.

Tell me about it. Jasmine, too - and Aladdin. You do not make a character walk around with only a vest and pants on for half a movie and not expect people to stare.

[He makes a face.]

What the hell is a Dmitri?

Uh, Fox's Anastasia?

Never heard of that one.

[He gapes]

We need a projector and movies right now. You need to see that movie.

Then I need to figure out something you haven't seen that you need to remedy right away.

Most American movies? I saw Star Wars but didn't like it.

[This is a wonderful conversation to distract him with.]

[He closes his eyes, turning away from Jehan.]

Dude, I can't even look at you right now.

I'm not a sci-fi person! It's all silly to me! I loved Lord of the Rings, though.

You're silly. Han Solo is, hands fucking down, one of the coolest characters in film to this day.

[He's still not looking at Jehan.]

Right next to Marty McFly.

Sci-fi is just people with lasers. I had a bad laser tag experience, lasers aren't cool to me.

[He shudders]

We had a little fort going and I snuck over to distract the other team and they got me and they were so much bigger and they broke the rules and shot their guns in my eyes. Not fun for a six year old.

I hope this is just your way of telling me you haven't seen Back to the Future, Jehan.

[He nods, but he has to laugh a little at that.]

You should do it again. Conquer your bad experiences. You've done capture the flag before - laser tag's a walk in the park in comparison.

I haven't. Or Star Trek.

[He laughs a little but shakes his head]

It's just not very fun for me, especially after capture the flag.

You'd love Star Trek. Kirk looks damn good in his uniform. But Back to the Future? Fantasy-adventure movie with time-travel elements. Kickass. And Doc Brown's like a slightly looper Gandalf.

[he lightly punches him in the shoulder, then slides his arm around the other boy's shoulder. He's not going to pull anything, he just needs the closeness.]

I guess. I still think it's fun.

Yeah, it's the time travel and the eighties-ness of it that throw me off.

[He leans against Gabriel]

And I think writing poetry's fun even though I'm not an Apollo kid. To each his own.

I do not understand how that is a problem.

[He leans agains Jehan as well, taking in the closeness.]

We're not completely defined by our parents, y'know.

It feels like we are sometimes. Explaining to the new kids that no, I'm not Apollo's kid or Hades's kid or Athena's kid or whatever else gets old, you know?

See, I have people guess. Most of the time, I get Hermes. Nobody expects me to be a freakin' son of rainbows even for a second.

Well, you're not fabulous enough.

[He does a stereotypical "gay" voice for "fabulous"]

[he has to admit, it's kind of funny, especially with the accent, but...]

[even before he realized he had no real preference if his partners were boys or girls, he did get teased a lot for whose son he was. He sees absolutely nothing wrong with being who he is, at all, but having someone try to knock you down is never fun.]

[He nods, smiling a little]

No, I know. I'm not serious. I was just making fun of the jackasses who were. Did you know someone asked me if I was an Iris kid?

Hey, I get touchy about it.

[He shrugs a little.]

I wouldn't mind that. You'd be a good little brother to have around.

[Of course, that would mean he wouldn't get to kiss Jehan until the poet's red and stammering, so he much prefers life the way it is.]

I think I could have been happy as an Iris kid. I love Maman, of course, and honestly hated it when Hera decided...you know, but if it wasn't Maman I could see Iris.

[He yawns, tired from the emotions and crying]

Though someone needs to take care of Naomi.

She's a good mom to have. I'd be happy to share.

[And he still will be, if he ever gets another sibling.

He desperately, desperately wants a sibling. It gets lonely in there by himself sometimes - and he swears the lava lamps are sentient, because their numbers keep increasing.[

You're doing a great job with her.

[More likely it's Iris adding lava lamps]

Thanks for looking out for her during that...fiasco, by the way. I don't know if I said that yet.
