first diamond ◆ action
[Random kids dropped in nearly everyday lately, and Hazel was no different. Well, maybe the way she took in her surroundings was. She'd been spending the time since New Rome fell traveling across country, but she'd also been awestruck by too many things. Once before when she'd returned she'd seen the modern U.S and had immediately went back to New Rome because it'd seemed more real to her then anything out there. And that's sort of why she had a bit more difficulty then other Romans to make her way across county.]
[She found it easy to tell which one was Pluto's--Hades'-- cabin. It was kind of obvious from standing at the Big House, really. No one else would want to deal that closely with death (well maybe Thantos kids but did Thantos have kids?). It looks almost like a summer camp except for the buildings that so obviously screamed demigod. But it was weird and foreign, too. Nothing like New Rome. Where was all the non-teenagers, after all?]
[So entering camp is one (1) thirteen-year-old daughter of Pluto looking more than a little beat up- -monster attacks, never a pretty thing. The sword at her side, distinctly not a gladius like most other Roman Soldiers, gripped firmly in hands. She was tiny, at least, in that she looked no more than thirteen, but well she might seem a little old, too. Just a bit. And curious, as she takes in the Greek camp with wide eyes and a slow, careful work as she made her way down to the cabin that felt like it called to her.]
[If she comes across anyone she'll stop with a polite "Excuse me?" and look like she wants to ask something, but she won't bother anyone for too long if they don't want to be, at least.]

o/ yay!
I'm Hazel.
[She was pretty sure they'd never actually officially met. Especially with 200 some-odd Romans and the other Cohorts using the fifth as a sort of beating back in any game, but well.]
Yeah, just a few minutes ago. How long have you been here? Did a lot of the Legion make it? [So many questions.]

I've been here since the end of June. I'm - well, we're the lucky ones. [ She frowns thoughtfully. Of the hundreds of Romans, there were only a handful who made it to camp and that worries her every time she thinks about it. So she tries not to, most days.
With the hands in the pockets of her shorts, Heather shrugs. ] Reyna and Jason are here, though, and I've heard Lupa's around.

How many Romans are here?
[That was probably the wrong question to ask, but-- she sometimes imposed on questions. Now was that time.] Of course they're here. They'd definitely make it. I'm sure the others are still coming.
no subject
Exactly! It's hard. I'm surprised it took me only a few months.
[ She cants her head to the side, looking her over. ] How're you doing, Hazel?
no subject
They're Romans. [And all roads are not leading to Rome this time. Everyone's instincts will guide them.
[She's a bit scratched up and there's a little dried blood, but she doesn't seem to notice all too much.] I'm okay. It's peaceful in here. [And weird. Really weird. But it was less weird than the outside world to her.]

[ Truth be told, Heather had taken to the Grecian ways faster than you could say "Aphrodite" which was probably what the Praetors feared. ]
You got ambrosia or something for your cuts yet? You can get that from the Big House. I don't think mealtime is far away either.

[Hazel had barely gotten used to the Roman way that how she would respond to the Greeks was yet to be determined. But at Heather's mention it seems her attention is for the first time drawn to the scrapes and bruises that were showing on her skin.
But she shakes her head.]
I don't need it. There are worse injuries that'll need it more.

That's cool. I mean, that's really considerate of you. [ Sheepishly: ] I would have taken a nibble. But maybe just a good meal will help you out while you settle in. I guess I don't need to tell you where you're staying?
no subject
That's okay, though. I think lots of people would. [She nods.] Yeah, maybe. And, well, it's kind of obvious from here.

[ She grins, brushing her palms off on her shorts. ]
I should let you get settled. How about I give you a tour later, if you want? You'll love the creatures we've got here. Oh, and Hannibal's with us!
