[EVENT POST] June 29, 2013
[Well, it looks like the Lady Artemis has heard little Arin's prayer, and has decided to exact retribution on Ares' son - as well as everyone else who did nothing to stop him - in a big way.
Despite falling asleep in their beds last night, no cabin will be filled except the Artemis cabin, who have been pardoned. In fact, for a moment, campers will probably be confused as to where they've come to. They certainly didn't go to bed in the forest.
Once they look around, though, they'll notice some different things. Maybe they're much lower to the ground than usual or have extra limbs or appendages. Maybe they can smell better, or fly into the sky.
Regardless, it won't take them too long to realize that they've been turned into some sort of animal, bound to the forest by an invisible wall, and forest natives won't be able to understand their cries for help - only other campers-turned animals will. Your mission, campers? Survive the day, and try not to get eaten.

Oh, hell no.
Of all things to be turned into, Artemis has decided in her most benevolent wisdom to turn Dave into a red-spotted newt. Said newt is currently chilling, looking as cool as it's possible for a newt to look, at the edge of the lake.
Silently praying a bird doesn't try to eat him.
Naomi, this is your fault somehow.]
no subject
She's not sure if her jaw will allow for that as a monitor, but she certainly will try.]
no subject
Maybe if he hides, it won't see him.]
no subject
...and then jumps at him, claws out.]
no subject
Dave made a sound that was definitely not a shriek of terror and skittered out of the way along the shoreline.
Shit shit shit. As if it wasn't enough that he was a fucking newt, now he was going to get eaten.]
no subject
But now she should be more serious, since she gave that lizard quite a fright. It could be one of her friends, after all.]
Stand down, newt. I am Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen, daughter of Hephaestus, keeper of Silver, and apparent lizard. I mean you no true harm.
no subject
Oh, wait, it's talking.
The little red newt quivers in place (not shaking, shut up), then Dave lets out an aggravated sigh.]
Fuckin' hell, Dany.
no subject
She's still frantically trying to find a way out, though after talking to Derek has quickly realized that she isn't the only one that's suddenly woken up as an animal.
So when she goes racing by a newt that's trying way too hard to look cool she doubles back, nose twitching.
No way. No way.]
Daaaaave?
no subject
Well, except for the part where they're never going to speak of it again.]
... No.
no subject
[There's no need to sound so gleeful Naomi or to start giggling.]
I told youuu! I so told you! You got turned into a newt!
no subject
[Who is he kidding, he's definitely Dave. The newt even has faintly darkened marks around the eyes where his shades would normally be.]
What the hell are you supposed to be?
no subject
I'ma chipmunk!
[Said in the most 'duh' tone she has.]
no subject
[Excuse him for not recognising what she is at this angle. Seeing a chipmunk giggling isn't a picture he's going to get out of his head any time soon.]
Never thought I'd miss Camp Jupiter.
no subject
[A weed covered cabin makes her cry, but apparently becoming a chipmunk is okay. She's a strange sort.
She hurries over to where the newt!Dave is, tilting her head.]
Camp Jupiter didn't do this kinda stuff?
no subject
[Maybe things like this happened when he wasn't, but the place had seemed far too strict for this. He gives a newt's best approximation of a shrug.]
It's like a shitty movie except instead of being an inch tall we're all very edible and mostly defenceless animals, with the patented shrink ray replaced by the wily hand of a fucked off deity.
no subject
[Swear jar. It's going to be a thing soon.
He does make a point though, Naomi deflates a little, looking around.]
Mmm, but we can probably find our way back? And we're small so we can hide from the bigger animals.
no subject
[What happens next is probably Dave trying to shrug, but on a newt it just doesn't look right.]
It feels like we're being punished for somethin'.
