[EVENT POST] June 29, 2013
[Well, it looks like the Lady Artemis has heard little Arin's prayer, and has decided to exact retribution on Ares' son - as well as everyone else who did nothing to stop him - in a big way.
Despite falling asleep in their beds last night, no cabin will be filled except the Artemis cabin, who have been pardoned. In fact, for a moment, campers will probably be confused as to where they've come to. They certainly didn't go to bed in the forest.
Once they look around, though, they'll notice some different things. Maybe they're much lower to the ground than usual or have extra limbs or appendages. Maybe they can smell better, or fly into the sky.
Regardless, it won't take them too long to realize that they've been turned into some sort of animal, bound to the forest by an invisible wall, and forest natives won't be able to understand their cries for help - only other campers-turned animals will. Your mission, campers? Survive the day, and try not to get eaten.

But she isn't, and this time, she's awoken not among the soft blankets of her bed, but swaddled in leaves. She also doesn't remember her skin being so scaly, as she makes sure to moisturize often. Her skin is frail, and tends to become very chapped easily.
But she holds her own arm up, and practically screams. For one thing, she's green. She's also tinier than usual, clawed, and has a tail whipping around from side to side.
She makes her way over to the river, though it takes quite a while for Dany to get there due to her little legs. She peers at herself, and realizes somehow she's turned into a sort of lizard - she doesn't know it, but Dany's become an emerald tree monitor.
This isn't good, not in the least, and it's at this point she wishes she was a child of Hecate. A person like that might even be able to say a few magic spells and get out of this.
She skitters up a nearby tree and hangs onto the bark, her claws and scales helping her to grip on.]

He turns his head when he hears something, spotting a lizard near by. It's a long shot but...]
Do you know how to get back to Camp Half-Blood?
[He's talking to a lizard... This is strange even for him.]

She stays very still on the tree, trying not to fall off. Claws are new for her, and she tries to move smoothly and effortlessly like a dragon.
But it's then that the finch opens its beak to speak...and the voice that comes out is remarkably like that of Enjolras.
She narrows her beady eyes up at the bird. Even in this new form, she is bigger than it, and some lizards do take birds as prey. She can protect herself and take what is hers.]
Gabriel, stop this foolish trick immediately. Your so called 'imaginative' ideas are running dry.
no subject
[Alright, murder would be a bit drastic. Maybe he would just blind Gabriel instead. That could work just as well.
The narrowed eyes make him take a step to the side, and when he nearly slips he flaps his wings barely managing to catch himself. It's only then that the voice clicks. If it's possible he gives her an incredulous look.]
Dany?
no subject
[She stops short in her tracks - gods, it is him. Even as a sort of finch, he looks completely disgruntled.]
Enjolras, it's happened to you as well?
[She begins to skitter up the bark of the tree to take her place next to him on the branch.]
no subject
[If so he's really sorry Dany.
Her approach makes him take a few steps to the side, and that makes him lose his balance for a moment. With a very undignified squawk he flaps his wings, barely managing to regain his balance.]
no subject
[She has to try hard not to laugh at that. Angering the gods isn't such a great idea right now.
She does, however, laugh at Enjolras' squawking.]
Your form does not suit you, dear Enjolras.
no subject
No, it doesn't. I'd much rather have woken up on the ground then in a tree.
[He makes the mistake of looking down, and almost immediately looks back up. Right. Time to just focus on Dany and...
And he can't help the small laugh that escapes him.]
You look a bit like a little dragon.
no subject
[But thankfully, monitors are notoriously good climbers, so she can at least spend time with him up here like this.]
I believe I'd need wings for that to be true. Only then could I soar in the wind at your side.
no subject
[If birds could raise an eyebrow he'd be doing so right now. Dany who added that phrase to your vocabulary?]
There's always your pegasus and your dragons one day.
Though I would like to figure out a way to return to my normal state.
no subject
[She simply chuckles, leaning into his wing. It was quite easy to get Enjolras flustered, and although it wasn't a hobby she indulged herself in often - she was normally too proud, too busy with appearing dignified to do so - even sometimes, a girl who acts like a queen can have fun, too.]
...do you think Natalie might know the path? She is well-versed in magic.
no subject
[It isn't worth explaining. He tilts to the side at the unexpected weight, readjusting his grip. Sometimes he really hates when Dany gets in one of these teasing moods.]
Natalie might, but the question is then how do we find her if she's also been cursed.
[Then again, Enjolras could probably find the path from the air... If he could figure out how to fly more then a few feet without falling.]
no subject
[She looks up into the sky thoughtfully, wondering how they would even do that.]
Do you have a drachma?
no subject
Yes. Because I have pockets to carry drachmas.
no subject
Ariel, this is no time to play a sarcastic card.

[She sighs a bit, closing her eyes, which flash white before she does so.]
Our best hope of changing back is to find Natalie, or Stiles. I hear he is at camp presently.
no subject
BOOM.
An enormous, bronze claw landed on the ground, almost chopping off half an inch of his tail and shaking the world around him. He leaps off the ground in sudden fear, racing for cover before turning to watch whatever it was keep going.
A bronze dragon. There was a bronze dragon hanging out in the camp's forest.
Cool!
Leo makes a quick attempt to race after the dragon, but with his little salamander legs, he doesn't get very far before losing sight of it. If he were human, he'd be slumping in disappointment about now. As it was, he merely curled his tail around his body and sulked. ]
Aw, man. Dany would have liked that dragon.
[ Once he was human, he'd have to try finding it again. Maybe he could surprise her with it! ]
no subject
Dany's not exactly great at being a lizard, though, and even though her tail is supposed to balance her, the vibrations of the large claw knock her off the tree and she falls flat onto her back, claws in the air.
Was that Leo's voice?]
Leo? Are you there? This is most dreadful...
no subject
Dany?
no subject
Yes, Leo, I seem to be in a new form as well. I'd require some help, if you can spare it.
no subject
Any idea why we're animals?
no subject
I feel that we may have upset one of the gods in some way. This is something like their usual punishments.
