[So after this quickly escalated on the 16th of February, Nico has decided that he's in a better frame of mind, and heart, to at least apologize to the camp. He is not going to apologize to Percy, and honestly still doesn't want to see him. The son of Hades is currently in the forest, looking a little uncomfortable.]

Ah...so, about last Sunday...I'm pretty sure that you guys may have noticed a small earthquake happened.

[Why does apologizing have to be so hard?]

That was my and Percy's fault. We had a little...disagreement.

["Disagreement" he says. His eyes betray that he means "heated argument."]

For those who don't know or might not realize this, this kind of thing happens when two children of the Big Three have strong disagreements between each other. You get a natural disaster, and luckily this one was small enough to not cause any damage that I'm aware of. Before you guys even think about it, don't try to get all three sets of children into an argument.

[Nico sighs.]

Anyway...since half of it was my fault, I wanted to...apologize for the incident. And for any fear or damage caused by it.

[He can't promise that it won't happen again, since that's an impossible promise to keep, but...well.]

[Praise the gods, just the man he needs to see! He didn't tell Derek about it when they last met up. Mostly, he was still reeling from the incident, and didn't want to say anything until he was in a better frame of mind.

He's still not in a good mindset, but whatever.

The moment Nico sees Derek, it's like all of his reservations crumble. He feels like a little kid again, relying on the older sibling to protect him when his parent isn't there to help. Nico doesn't need any prodding when he just blurts it right out at Derek's questioning look.]

I told Percy in the middle of our argument. I wasn't thinking, and now he knows.

[ For as concerned as he's been since the incident, they've had Hazel as a distraction and Nico has been quiet. So, Derek's let him have his silence until he's been ready to tell him what's happened.

Typically reserved in affectionate physical contact, he doesn't hesitate to close the distance between himself and Nico, scarce as it is, and open his arms the second the words come out of Nico's mouth. Nico is family and pack, and he's obviously distressed. ]

C'mere.

[Yeah, that is a tight hug he is going to give Derek. He buries his face in his brother's shirt.]

I have to tell Hazel. And Bay. I can't...I can't keep it from them anymore. Not when I just...blurted it all out in public.

[arracht]

[ Almost immediately, Derek bows forward to tuck his nose into his brother's hair, squeezing him tight. This is a terrifying thing-- he gets that. But he's not going to go anywhere. ]

Better that they hear it from you, than anyone else. [ It's quiet agreement, but he noses a little at him. Better to be honest with him: ] They'll understand, Nico. Maybe Hazel won't at first, but they will.

[He has the best family, he really does.]

I want to believe that, but I don't....

[Nico takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly.]

I don't want to expect it to be good, and then it winds up being terrible.

[ Shaking his head a little, he pulls back to get a look at Nico, angling his head wolfishly. But there's nothing predatory there, just a quiet care. ]

All we've known, for a long time, has been terrible. But this? This'll be okay.

I promise, Nico. [ And he'll make sure it's okay, if he has to. Nico deserves this much. ]
