[Events had been piling up so that Karrin was starting to become rather concerned for the future of the Norse at camp. The most recent being this prank that had spiraled out of control. True, it was nothing to really do with any of the Norse, but it were these relationships between the camps that made Karrin feel like she was obligated to organize her own fellow Norse. Her talk with Annabeth hadn't helped either.
It didn't look like anyone else was going to do the stepping up.
So, Karrin had decided she should start with their most obstinate member, Bay. Okay, it probably wasn't good to go into the meeting thinking of her in that way, but Bay was the reincarnation of Hel and considered herself an outsider. Karrin had to try and make that work for her.
And as soon as she approached the Hades cabin and saw some of the flickering spirits, it took all of her courage not to turn right back around and walk off. The images are vaguely familiar to Karrin in that vague sort of way a forgotten dream can be familiar. After all, weren't the Valkyries in-charge of taking the warrior dead or something? This could explain why this scene was somewhat familiar...but it left her with a feeling of dread.
