[EVENT POST] June 29, 2013
[Well, it looks like the Lady Artemis has heard little Arin's prayer, and has decided to exact retribution on Ares' son - as well as everyone else who did nothing to stop him - in a big way.
Despite falling asleep in their beds last night, no cabin will be filled except the Artemis cabin, who have been pardoned. In fact, for a moment, campers will probably be confused as to where they've come to. They certainly didn't go to bed in the forest.
Once they look around, though, they'll notice some different things. Maybe they're much lower to the ground than usual or have extra limbs or appendages. Maybe they can smell better, or fly into the sky.
Regardless, it won't take them too long to realize that they've been turned into some sort of animal, bound to the forest by an invisible wall, and forest natives won't be able to understand their cries for help - only other campers-turned animals will. Your mission, campers? Survive the day, and try not to get eaten.

At first Naomi is completely convinced that she fell out of her bed (again). That would explain why the grounds so hard. When she opens her eyes though she's met with the sight of the forest.
A very large forest.
Weird. She sits up, blinking in confusion before catching a look at her hands paws. A small, shrill squeak follows. Cue a panicked chipmunk running around the woods.
No, no, no! What did she do this time?]
no subject
Considering the sound of the squeak, he figures it must have come from something fairly small. So he keeps an eye on the ground as he walks, careful so that he doesn't wind up stepping on the source. ]

Seeing a incredibly large wolf makes her freeze, eyes wide.
Maybe if she stays still the wolf won't notice her...]
no subject
But then, in his scan, he spots the tiny bundle of fur that is...
A chipmunk. He blinks, considering her before he takes a step back and settles on his haunches. ]
no subject
The wolf sits back on its haunches, and Naomi can't think about how strange that is.]
Niiiiice puppy. Good puppy. Don't eat me I wouldn't taste good!
[Oh. Good, she can somehow still talk. Even if it's coming out in a pathetic sort of whine.]
no subject
[ The fact he can talk like this doesn't quite seem to bother him, but that's mostly because Derek just decides to take this in stride.
Even if the look on his face is a wolfish mix of amused and bemused.
Chipmunks don't usually talk. ]
no subject
[Naomi blinks, unfreezing. There's still a wariness as she keeps her distance.]
'nd you'd eat me because you're a wolf. Don't wolfs eat other animals?
A-Ah! But you still shouldn't eat me! I-I'm not really an animal! I'm human!
no subject
[ Derek flicks his ears up a little as she says she's human, though, and regards her briefly before he's pushing back up to all fours. His approach is slow, but not predatory, so that she doesn't spook. ]
Are you one of the Greeks?
no subject
He may not mean to spook her, but that's what he does. She darts back, frantically trying to climb up the tree. It's only when he mentions the Greeks that she pauses (already halfway up). Her nose twitches.]
Uuuuum... Yes? Are you?
no subject
[ Derek looks up at her where she's scrambled up the tree, and his ears relax back as he chuffs an amused sound out. Well, he can't quite blame her for wanting to get away from something that's so drastically bigger than her, but it's kind of funny in a way. ]
Great way to welcome newcomers to the camp.
no subject
[First cabins, now this, Naomi is really not having the best first impressions. His amused sound makes her puff up, or well, as much as a chipmunk can puff up.]
D'you think anyone else got turned into animals?
no subject
[ His face scrunches a little, or as best as it can as a wolf, and it's what keeps Derek from snorting as she puffs up a little. Considering her question, though, he shrugs a shoulder loosely and sits at the base of the tree. ]
If you can't think of anything you might have done to offend a god, and I can't... then there's a chance it's camp-wide.
no subject
[She blinks, then suddenly is climbing down.]
Wa-Wait so that means everyone's animals? We gotta find them before something bad happens!
no subject
Do you know this forest at all?
no subject
[She looks up at him, eyes wide. Wow. Were wolves normally this big or was it just because she was a chipmunk?]
I mean, 'm still kind of new but I've taken walks through the forest a couple of times when Tai visited?
no subject
Letting out a thoughtful sound at the back of his throat, a low rumble that doesn't hold any threat, he looks back down at her from the trees around them. He has to shift back from her, but once he's on all fours again he bows his head down to her and flicks his ears up, red eyes calm. ]
Better than me. Hop on.
no subject
Ummm... 'm Naomi, by the way, what's your name Mr. Wolfie?
no subject
Derek. [ His tone is a little bemused in response to the nickname, but he's surprisingly patient about his passenger now. ]
no subject
Who's your parent?
