First Street Bomb - [IM]

Hi. Bay Kennish, resident reincarnated God of the Underworld. I haven't really bothered with the whole talking through rainbows thing, but I do have a tiny complaint.

You've been great hosts making sure that we got to have all the 'fun' of kidnapping anyone who tried to leave this summer, one of your Gods tormenting people with the dead, being trapped by werewolves and finally keeping us here under total lockdown without any attempt at asking your guests if they would appreciate it.

But just because this is your camp, and we're only here because you invited us, doesn't mean you should just forget that we might have opinions and ideas about some of the things going on. Yes, we like the safety, but we also would like to know where the rest of us, both our pantheon and the fragmented souls of our Godly forms, happen to be. If they are safe, do they need us, would they like to catch a movie? Things we can't do from the inside of your hospitality.

We don't want to see the world destroyed again, but realize that we would like the freedom to leave you to your war with your Earth God if you keep treating us like we're your campers. Got it? Good.

Well said, Bay. And perhaps something that needed saying, if only as a reminder.

[Though, honestly, he has nothing against the barrier set in place. He can see why they did it, especially with as fast as it went up. It's just that Flynn recognizes that there are limits to how much the different pantheons are going to grin and bear the orders without consulting them about it, too.]

They seem to forget we are not their children. I figured a polite reminder before they end up with more complicated relationships.

I don't get the feeling that this is supposed to be a permanent thing. Of course, I could be wrong and thinking too optimistically, but I would hope that if it had been the intention to be set like this from now to forever, then there would have been a major discussion on it. Rhys, Mary, the leader of the Egyptians, and the Roman and Greek leaders should have at least been in on discussing it with Chiron and perhaps Mr. D.

[He shrugs.]

You would hope there would be a discussion about major changes in camp that involve multiple pantheons, but that would involve an equality of power we are sorely lacking.

So yes, you're being too optimistic.

Being trapped here wasn't what I had in mind when I came, as thankful as I am that we've been given a place to regroup.

You know they're doing something wrong when the hosts of Hel and Odin are on the same page.

How are we regrouping if we can't look for your kin.

We've had new arrivals. You found the golden apples and we have our tree now, which is more than we had. Having a place where they can come to find us is important.

[He sighs.]

But I'd rather be out there, looking for them and for more of our heritage. That would be a far better tactic than being forced to wait here.

Yes, because you found your way right to the camp. You didn't detour anywhere else, and the others will avoid all the trouble out in the world waiting for us.

I would too, and I would rather get their help devising our own safehouse than stay prisoner in theirs if this is how they treat us.

I wasn't trying to get to camp until I heard about your quest. I was looking for answers on my own. I'd rather still be doing that, but I figured I'd be needed here- I didn't expect to be trapped.

[Not that he's angry at anyone in specific about that. He's just as frustrated as Bay with the situation.]

Having a safe base is important, is the point I was trying to make. It's no good collecting people if we don't have somewhere to put them... but preferably, that would be a place that let us come and go.

That's what I mean, if any of the others think the way you do? They aren't with us, and won't until we drag them back.

A safe base? A base of operations can be left to explore and do good! We're doing nothing here. We might as well forget our fellows if we stay here and do nothing to help them.

Bay, I'm agreeing with you. I don't think being stuck here is useful.

[He's just being more diplomatic about it.]

Then stop being polite, and start being useful.

I'm not a leader, Hel isn't even accepted in Asgard, and both Greek and Roman camps have little love for the children of the Underworld. So I doubt any would listen to me even if I looked a bit more like her.

That means someone else should show them how firm our stance on this is!

I've talked to Chiron about respecting our pantheon and I mostly got 'sit down and shut up until you can sit at the adult table'. Something about gratitude, too.

[It rankles. It seriously, seriously rankles.]

We're going to have our own space here- one way or another we'll make that happen- but I don't know how to make them open the borders. We can't start a war in here.

They have enough on their plate to realize starting another war inside their walls will not get them any closer to winning the war they're hiding from.

And since the key to us sitting at the 'big kids table' is our divine power, I imagine they don't want us to reclaim any more strength. Especially if they keep driving a wedge between us.

Believe me, the thought has crossed my mind.

[He pauses thoughtfully. They are talking over a rainbow created by one of the goddesses.]

We should probably discuss this in person.

I have nothing to hide, but if you think it's better to talk in person. I'm in Cabin thirteen.

It just seems tacky to be rude about them over their own communication system.

Next you'll say we can't be rude in their camp. Then where will we be.

I won't say that until we have our own space to gripe in.

I was under the impression this was one of those adults versus minors things, not so much a Greek one, really. [Have a somewhat quirked eyebrow there.]

Okay, so that one IS different then.

But the point is more that...I assumed, I don't know, that they had going on. There might be something that they can do if you ARE of the adult set then.

The point is not if we're minors or not! We're here to help you with your war, in exchange for the hospitality of this camp and aid with our lost selves. We're seeing a lot of your war, and very little of our needs.

And now, even if we would like to strike out on our own, your barriers are now meant to keep us in.

We are not your siblings, and we are not your pawns.

I'm not with them either. I'm just saying that...there seems to be more of a power divide issue that isn't necessarily the fault of any of the Greek campers per say.

Otherwise, I get your point. I just...think that this is maybe a Chiron issue, not a them themselves issue. But if you wanted to petition or assert or whatever it was, to them...uh the powers that be them... I WOULD actually support it. I just think it's maybe misplaced to go at them, the campers.

And this isn't directed at the campers, this is directed at whoever is in charge. I thought the heads of each cabin were involved in the process, and given that one of them is involved in the process of creating this lockdown, I would figure they used their own system of governance to decide on this course. Right?

If they can't point out this little flaw, someone else has to.

I...wouldn't call it a prison exactly. But I get that shit's been happening a lot longer than I've been here too.

And okay, that makes a whole lot more sense, to clarify. All of it, that is. I can't imagine how frustrating all of this must be, in that case. Well, in any case, but...

Can we leave?

A lot is going on, but that doesn't mean that Chiron and the others get to throw are needs away for a little temporary safety. It's stupid and absolutely worthless.

Well, those who are going on quests, I guess, or clear it.

...Okay, yeah, in a couple years that might start to annoy me too, more than annoy if a lot of things are at stake the way they are for all of you.

I wonder if there IS some way to manage that while keeping everyone else safe. Not that one should take priority over the other, necessarily...

It's just something to consider...if it might be done, and how.

Have they authorized a quest? I'm pretty sure Dean would start dancing if they authorized anyone to go after the Red Room thieves. I'm pretty sure three dragons are something you keep out of the hands of the enemy if at all possible.

You don't trade freedom for safety, and while Benjamin Franklin understood it. As someone housing an aspect of death, I know it a lot better. Everything ends, everyone dies, and no tricks you use to put it off will ever be enough to save you. So we might as well go big now, do whatever we can, and live bold lives and fight.

Anyone not willing to take their freedom might as well waste away now and I'll see them when she gets home.

I'm not certain but...it seems likely, doesn't it? Especially regarding those. Not that I can imagine any of them turning on Dany, like...ever, but...it would be good to have them back and know for sure. And that they're not being harmed.

[He only lost books so it's not AS dire but he WOULD like them back, at some point. They aren't as immediately potentially important though so there's that.]

Typically, no. I quite agree. But...there ARE younger kids here too. Demigod ones, mostly, which shouldn't apply to all of you, but...it's worth risking the safety of somebody who isn't able to handle things themselves yet? I mean...we aren't talking major abilities yet, I wouldn't guess.

[Cause, yeah. He gets it but...someone like Naomi or Charlie or something? It's something that has to be weighed when thinking about benefits for him.]

I've seen our initiates fight, when they were pressed, and they were pretty young, but...that was when pressed. If it's the sort of danger that's more easily avoided by not lowering the barrier....for now. It's a lot more to think about than it first seems, once you get going, I guess.

First off, the gods of Olympus? Just as much in the dark as you are about where the rest of your souls are. Me? I barely think Hera knows, but she's got bigger plans for you - probably. I don't know, she doesn't tell me these things, I'm just the god of theater and wine is all. But she's sending them here, so you'll meet them sooner or later.

And last time I checked, you live on this planet, too. So technically? I think it's everybody's war. If, y'know, you enjoy having a planet to live on? You're probably gonna want to fight back.

You've put yourselves in charge, your camp, your enemy, your war. And you're doing a bang-up job! Really, I can see how easily we'll win this war from in this bunker. Churchill at least had a plan and had troops outside working towards a victory.

And I don't mean to sound like I don't trust you, or Hera, or the rest of Olympus. But I would rather attempt to find the rest of Hel myself, and not just take your word for it. ...Which I guess means I don't trust you or the rest of Olympus, but you're not really giving us much to go on! You decide how things will run without even trying to include the other pantheons on how we might win this war, didn't Olympus have to rely on the incredibly wit that is Percy Jackson to save it from destruction before?

Doesn't that mean, maybe, you should put a little more faith in the mortals you seem intent to control? Instead of preventing any of us from being useful.

So Johnson saved Olympus last time. What I do know about this one, if anything, is that we're going to need gods and mortals together - yes, even you - to defeat Gaea. Look, maybe I'd give you more to go on if I had more to go on. I'm locked out of Olympus myself.

[So he knows a little bit about what she's feeling, but it doesn't mean she can speak to him like this. She's not a full goddess yet - and even though Mr. D has an attitude, he doesn't appreciate it from others. He already has to deal with Zeus' major temper. His eyebrows furrow more.]

Once again, Miss Kennings: we're doing this for your personal safety, and for the safety of everyone else and ourselves. We can't risk breaching that for anyone - especially the younger ones.
